African House - Menu

Visited it twice in last few months. Being a vegetarian, there are lesser options for me but those are really delicious. They serve nice appetizers as well. A must visit.

We were in Frankfurt for days for a football match. We went to this place late on the first night. Got in about midnight and food was served. Good service. They suggested a shared platter. It was fine. Beers were good too. Yes, we...would go back.

It took them 45min to give us a menu and 1:30 hours to serve us the starter plus another hour to serve us the main dishes. The waiter was nice but had no clue what she doing. On the bright side, food was good and...price reasonable. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. View menu

For about euro you get three pancakes, two of them are rolled (empty) and on the third one there is some meat and sauce. The thing is this meat should have been cooked at least an hour more, it was so hard that it...was hardly edible. No, just no, it was a terrible experience.

The ambience of restaurant not so attractive but I guess it's authentic .. so the bottom line it's very good food. they know the basics and serves some real simple yet healthy n delicious dishes. loved it during my visit. Already recommended to friends. for staff they are very polite n courteous. keep up good work, you are important

We were looking for some alternative to Im Herzen Afrikas and found this place in Bockenheim. The restaurant inside is quite nice and cosy. A lot of candles, some wooden tables and chairs and straw decorations on the wall. We were not disappointed with...the food as well. I was expecting a plate for a couple of people to share but they serve already some portions for one person so everyone ordered what he wanted. I took some vegetarian version- i have no idea about the names and it was good. I took a honey vine and its taste was quite original. I have been visiting this place since five years or more now. I m a vegetarian and find Africa House amongst the best restaurants in Frankfurt. Their veg dish comes with different types of lentils, vegetable curry n bread and i loooove it. The staff...is so gud that now they know what i like and what they should offer me. We go in a group of people and usually get some desserts complimentary. The ambience of the place is cool. All african furniture and chairs. Everytime i go there are some changes in the decor which make ambience better everytime. I definitely recommend to visit the restaurant and i m sure you too will love it.

I am a regular at this place and I always enjoy my time here. I like the food and the atmosphere. The service is friendly although you need to be patient sometimes and not be in a hurry. I especially recommend their buffet on Monday...nights not because you can eat as much as you like, but because you can try most of their dishes and then indulge in the one you like most. The food is spicy and well balanced. You usually eat with your fingers but they also lay out forks and knives for less messy eating. I love the spicy lentils and the spicy chicken and beef. The red hot sauce is amazing. You should also try the special coffee. Or black tea with spices. For me it's always worth a visit.

This was not my first African experinence but it was my last one in this particular place. The place is nice inside, authentic design. The staff is also nice. But when it comes to food they really have no ideea of what a restaurant is....We had to wait for an hour for something that was already cooked (you pass by the kitchen on your way to the toilet). The taste was ok but the portions are ridiculous when it comes to size (we actually left the place being hungry). The average price is euro for a dish but the size are really small, more like for kids. Do not get a big plate if you are together with friends of familly, better a separate plate for each and every one as this way you get a chanc... View menu
