"We were finishing up a trip that started in Venice, then to Tuscany for ten days and returned to Venice as we were flying out the next day. We searched Google for a close restaurant and found this one. I just can't say enough about it. There was a very, very good waitress (The Best) that helped us so much to order as only one of our group of 5 could understand any Italian at all. I had a White Pizza with Mushrooms that was the best Pizza I ever had, and I've had them all... Ha. My wife also had the best fried Veggies I've ever tasted (and I've been a cook all my life), not greasy at all and the lightest batter, I wish I could make them at home! She also had the nicest salad on the whole trip. It was huge and Fresh and she finished all of it. (she's a bit of a fickle eater and very slim and eats like a bird usually). The Tomato salad that they give you for the bread and the Bread was amazing. I could've eaten a bowl of it on my own. Another had fresh Gnocchi that he loved. And another had a Red sauce Pizza with Prosciutto, Arugula, Mozzarella and shaved Parmesan on top that was Great. A carafe of Awesome Red Wine that was under 5 euros! Not sure how, but we split 3 desserts between us that were Fabulous...The prices were extremely fair considering the quality, cleanliness of the open kitchen, and Beauty of this place and the food. It will be my first stop when I return to Venice as that it is something I absolutely must do. As we were leaving the Fabulous waitress offered us all a small shot of Limoncello that was the icing on the icing on the cake!!! GO HERE!!!"

Large family restaurant with a large assortment of excellent and reasonably priced pizza. The fish soup is excellent and abundant. Would definitely go back

We came at 23.00 at Tuesday and it was closed. Opening hours on the tripadvasior in the evening 17.00-02.00. On the door is until 24.00. We stayed hungry because we drive to this restaurant and we hadn't time to change it. Bad, bad, bad

Went to this restaurant twice as the food was so nice. Waitresses were not very friendly and had no English One waitress in particular was extremely rude! Made no effort to be courteous on the two occasions we went there. Learn Italian before visiting!!!!

Every day for lunch we went to Al Portico. They always greet us with open arms. The service is amazing and the waitresses are always smiling. The owner reads you the menu with great passion. I don't speak Italian, but it always interested me. And the food... you can taste that it is made with love....

A fantastic find, it’s a nice walk from The Crown Plaza, crossing over the river on the pedestrian and cycle path. The restaurant is set in a quiet square. The food and service is excellent it’s family run and has a great atmosphere. The antipasti was the best we have ever had we went back for a second meal. We had the set meal which was very good value but although delicious you would need to be extremely hungry to eat it all!

Can't say much other than wow! Until tonight we couldn't t say that we'd had an amazing meal, now we can. Delicious food, great service, not much of a view as situated in the middle of a housing estate in a small town, but restaurant itself is lovely and seems hugely popular with the locals. Try the taster menu but be sure to be really hungry! 30 euros fro 4/5 courses and coffee, each course was huge and cooked to perfection. House red chilled and really good. Can't believe we found it on our last night in the region, we'd happily have eaten here night after night! Thanks to all the staff at Al Portico:

It was real treat to have dinner in this excellent restaurant with some or majority calabrese disches as the owner said. I would suggest not to miss antipasto dela casa which is just introduction to fine cuisin that you will try here, after that you may continue with extraordinary calabrese pizza or if you like spicy food you should try Sclilatelli con anduja (some extra spicy calabrese sausage, tomato, olives, in chees eatable basket pure perfection). Great value for money antipasto, primo, pizza, beer, vine (1/4l), sorbetto 37eur, plus grappa limonchelo on the house. Great, reccommendation, we will be back.

"We had paid for 2 dinners as part of an offer on booking our hotel room at Park Hotel Junior. The waitress Barbara who is the daughter of the owners was present and smiling and walking and serving food with purpose on day one. We were given rather tasty starters and main course after they checked dietary requirements. We enjoyed it so much although I must admit I didn't even know what it was we had! We were also offered a glass of wine. The Friday night was busy with several tables booked for parties of some sort and lots of lovely food went wafting past us made up of fish dishes and pasta dishes and all sorts of niceties. There were at least 85 people there and we were well looked after. We even got chatting to the grandmother who explained at full speed in Italian that her son owned restaurant with his wife and daughters one of whom was the cook. So we rapidly brought up Google translator and explained to her we speak English but understood a little of what she said. She took pride in showing us all the pictures on the wall. Saturday evening was different. On arrival the large room next door to Da Odino was heaving with kids and adults with the restaurant having a handful of people. We had another warm welcome and was offered a lovely wine. There were only a handful of people in this time. After our first course we were deserted ad their attention was next door. At one point the sister (chef) came all the way out to locate someone to deliver a meal to a table behind us. We then got our pork rapidly delivered and were not offered desert due to no one being there. We didn't let it put a dampener on the night as the food was once again very tasty. On our way out we found mum Barbara and sister chef all at the till and thanked them for the evening. They wished us well and off we went on our two minute walk back to the hotel in the cold and not of course until we had taken some lovely photos of their beautiful restaurant. The meals cost €100 for two dinners (2 people) which included a 2 course meal a desert and a drink. Well worth it."
