"The restaurant was utterly vacant, with not a single customer in sight. One staff member was present, but they were not particularly helpful. We found that we couldn't order half of the items on the menu. It took us over 20 minutes to navigate the app and add food to our order. The atmosphere was dull and lifeless, with staff wandering around as if they didn't care. This experience completely spoiled what was meant to be a lovely wedding anniversary dinner. In the end, we decided to give up trying to order and left, as it would have been over an hour before we got to eat. While the prices seemed a bit steep, they might have been worth it had we felt welcomed, managed to place our order, and actually tried the food."

"To our surprise, I was asked to pay upfront even though we hadn’t received any food or drinks yet. I declined, opting to pay after our meal, a decision that proved wise. While we waited, a Just Eat delivery driver entered to pick up an order. He politely showed the manager his phone with the order number and requested that social distancing be maintained. Instead of cooperating, the manager shouted at him, refusing to hand over the food because he couldn’t see the phone clearly. He even told the driver to find another job and not to return. The manager then yelled across the restaurant for someone to handle the situation since he didn’t want to deal with the driver. A woman in a tracksuit eventually stepped in and handed the order to the driver while the manager continued to berate him for simply trying to do his job. After this disturbing encounter, the manager came to our table to justify his actions, claiming that if the driver needed to practice social distancing, he shouldn’t be a driver at all and that he had the right to check the driver’s phone. I disagreed, stating that the driver might have vulnerable family members and this job could be his only option. In an astonishingly inappropriate response, the manager exclaimed, “BUT I WAS HAPPY TO GO UP TO HIM AND HE COULD HAVE HAD AIDS!” I was taken aback and could hardly believe what I had just heard. He backpedaled slightly but continued insisting that the driver might be diseased. At that moment, our server returned to inform us that they had also run out of chili. In disbelief and disgust, we decided to leave. Overall, it was an appalling experience, completely marred by the ignorance of the staff. Would not recommend."

"**Gourmet Disappointment** I recently visited the Newport branch of Gourmet 4 for what was supposed to be a special anniversary meal on Saturday, October 9th. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be quite the opposite. Upon arrival, we eagerly browsed the menu and decided to order the Bottomless Brunch, which we paid for with high hopes. After waiting for 40 minutes, a lone staff member—who was juggling the roles of waiter, bartender, manager, and receptionist—finally approached us. To our dismay, he informed us that he was unable to serve any alcoholic drinks because he didn’t drink himself and lacked the necessary training. Shockingly, he couldn’t even open a bottle of wine! To make matters worse, we learned that the Bottomless Brunch we had paid for was not actually available, and our request for a refund was denied. This left us completely stunned, especially since we had anticipated enjoying drinks and cocktails. In his defense, the overwhelmed staff member did allow us to go behind the bar and choose our drinks, as he was unsure how to handle the situation while also managing multiple takeaway orders. We ended up finding two bottles of sparkling wine, which we had to open ourselves since he didn’t know how. When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre fast food—not terrible, but certainly not worthy of the ‘gourmet’ label. Describing it as gourmet would be like calling Johnny Vegas beautiful. The presentation was lackluster, served without condiments or cutlery. After some time, we finally managed to find the staff member again, who sourced some cutlery for us but stated that condiments were unavailable. Personally, I find a dry, unsalted, un-ketchupped chip to be a culinary crime! For dessert, we ordered two cheesecakes and a brownie, but only received one cheesecake and one brownie. After waiting another 15 minutes and inquiring about the missing cheesecake, we were met with the less-than-helpful response from our overworked staff member: “Sorry, we’re…” Overall, this experience was far from what we had anticipated. If you are looking for a true gourmet experience, I would recommend seeking out another venue."

"My overall experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing. The mobile app was not user-friendly and lacked descriptions for the menu items, which made it challenging to make a choice. I ended up having to ask a waiter for physical menus. The service was also very slow; we ordered four drinks, but only two of them arrived. We had to approach the bar to inquire about the missing drinks, and only then were the others prepared. Additionally, I was informed that Coca-Cola was out of stock, so I had to choose a different beverage. This information should definitely be included in the app. The drinks were also overpriced. It seemed like the restaurant was understaffed, as the employees appeared stressed and overwhelmed, whether they were at the bar, on the floor, or in the kitchen. While the concept of having a food bar is appealing, it doesn’t make sense to operate with such minimal staff in one kitchen, especially when the menu is so extensive—it ultimately affects the quality of service."

"However, after placing our orders, we faced a long wait for our food. The pizza arrived 15 minutes before the rest of the meal, and we were not informed that the garlic bread was included. Eventually, three burgers were served, but after another 10 minutes, we had to inquire about my daughter's chicken burger. It turned out the chef had completely overlooked it in our order. The pizza remained untouched, as it was quite bland. I then requested a refund for the missing items, as my daughter didn’t want to wait any longer for her meal. To say the evening was disappointing would be an understatement. The manager eventually came over to apologize and offered a full refund, acknowledging that his staff were doing their best; however, it seemed that the focus on delivery orders took precedence over the dining experience for those present. It may be beneficial to have a cook who can manage both delivery and dine-in orders, ensuring that seated customers are not forgotten."

Overall, my experience was disappointing, with a price tag of over £100 per person for food, service, and atmosphere all rating a 1 out of 5."

"We went to this restaurant for brunch on Sunday. Unfortunately, we only managed to get a table at 1:30pm, when brunch was about to end at 3:00pm. As a result, there were very few options left to choose from. The selection was quite limited, especially for breakfast items. The potatoes were almost gone, and there were no more muffins or potato buffers available. The advertisement mentioned that there would be meat and fish options for brunch, but the only meat available was pork trunks and small roast pieces. The only fish option was salmon to be eaten with bread. The sausages looked like they had been sitting out for a while. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant for brunch."

"Coming from just travelling in Italy, I was prepared for it to not be good, but I was very surprised! it was actually really good! "For starters, I ordered the scotch egg, expecting a warm, oozing yolk in the center, but it turned out to be just a hard-boiled egg. The meat coating seemed underseasoned, and it had a taste that suggested it might have been microwaved (though I could be mistaken). My partner had the wild mushrooms as her starter and said they were quite good. For the main course, I chose the beef and ale pie, which I found to be somewhat bland and overly salty. My partner had linguine, which she thought was decent but nothing special. For dessert, we shared the pavlova, and I must say it was a big letdown, earning only a 1 out of 5. The biggest issue is that it didn't resemble a traditional pavlova at all; it was more like a mound of cream with a few pieces of fruit on top. I would typically expect layers of meringue and cream with fruit, so this was quite disappointing. Overall, I probably wouldn't return for the food. Perhaps it was just an off night. On the bright side, I can't fault the staff for being friendly and welcoming."

"A lovely place to enjoy a meal with friends, the food was excellent, surrounds amazing, enhanced by great decor of tasteful Christmas touches. This place had the feel of a fantastic country pub, the service was fine as well. So what took the polish off my visit, as everything I’ve said so far has been positive? There are a couple of things that’s left a bad taste in my mouth; the first is the price, obviously you expect to pay for quality, however, I feel that this particular ‘bird’ was taking a bit more seed than it needed. I was charged £4 for a pint of blackcurrant and soda, with ice admittedly, however I felt it was extortionate, I might as well of had an alcoholic drink for those sort of prices. The other thing I know caused the leader of our group some anxiety, and inconvenience to the rest of us, which was that the ‘card reader’ wasn’t working. The ways to pay were cash or bank transfer. Please, if this happens let the people who have booked know, so that they can ensure they have cash, and can let the rest of us know. Nowadays who carries cash? Not many of us, as it caused us all to limit our drinks orders. Bad for us, and bad for business. So let people know in advance, or the very least post it on your website. Good management would be, to have a back up method of card payment of your current provider if it’s so flakey. Don’t let such a fundamental basic thing, let your establishment down."

"There are lots of places near us that serve pizza but they don't serve it up as tasty as this. The service is simply first.class from the whole team. Frascati Pizzeria has only been around for a few months and it was on the list of places to visit that my wife has so we decided as we were walking past to pop in. I've given Frascati Pizzeria 5 stars because I really did love it. The staff (owners) are very polite and attentive which is sincere and genuine. The restaurant itself has a very rustic feel to it. Although small (only about 8 tables if I remember) you aren't crammed in and have an intimate feeling. The owners are planning to expand the restaurant to fit more in and I doubt that they will find it difficult to get bums on seats. The menu is small. I like that as there is nothing worse than looking at a menu with too much to choose from. What they do offer though is a good choice of pizza, pasta and chicken with desert and sides plus a selection of beverages to accompany your meal. Just as you enter the restaurant you'll see where your pizza is cooked fresh and on-site. I love pizza that is cooked this way and that will go some way to how they taste so good. There is also seating area where you can sit whilst waiting for a your table and have a drink. I'd also like to say thank you for the free desert they offered my wife to mark her birthday. A very generous offer that was gratefully received. We've been back and had 4 pick ups from them now and each time the Pizza has tasted simply beautiful. We are aiming to get back to sit in very very soon."

"Don’t bother visiting here the food is tasteless and drinks are overpriced. We had garlic bread to start which was swimming in grease. For main I had margarita pizza which had way too much greasy stringy cheese on it and no taste tomato sauce, I could only eat half of it. My boyfriend had bolognese which was missing a lot of mince and sauce, it was mostly over cooked pasta which looked and tasted like it came out of a tin and again he hardly touched his. Drinks are over priced at £4.50 for a 330ml bottle of Moretti. We did ask for another beer during our meal but we never got it and although the waiting staff are on the ball we felt in a room full of busy diners not to mention anything. On getting the bill we did get a complimentary Amaretto shot each but neither of us like this so we left it and cash is the preferred payment. As I understand their usual chef is not in at the moment but still a chef is a chef and should still be able to deliver delicious food."

"I enjoyed my meal. It was tasty and well prepared. Like the food in many restaurants my pasta dish was a touch too salty. Consumers have been advised to reduce our salt intake for health reasons by governments and all medical experts and most people have followed the advice at home, but we find restaurants still add a little too much. Because we’re now used to less salty food in normal circumstances it’s very noticeable when there’s a bit too much. That said my main course of cod with beetroot and samphire was splendid."

"Finding this place after a long day of cycling was a real jackpot! We weren't aware they had a separate vegan menu, so I simply asked to omit some ingredients on our pizza for sweetness. A very friendly staff member informed me that as a vegan, I could have it made exactly as I requested, plus add vegan cheese or even choose from their vegan menu! They prepared it just as I asked, and I wasn't charged anything extra. In fact, I ended up getting a discount and a key ring as well. We decided to take the pizzas to the beach because we didn't feel comfortable sitting inside after our day out. The place had a cozy vibe, and I really hope to return someday."

"Dirty Burger in Bethnal Green Shoreditch High Street opened just over a couple of weeks ago. We wanted a quick bite to eat and happened to be walking on Shoreditch High Street when we spotted Dirty Burger. This Dirty Burger in Shoreditch is the fourth location in London. Dirty Burger offers a limited menu – a Cheese burger, a Dirty bacon and a Dirty Cop-out i.e., vegetarian. There are a few sides although we did not get any. Water juice is self-service from the refrigerator (hard to find! . This location of Dirty Burger can seat about 12 people, yet most of the crowd seems to arrive for take-out. The Dirty Bacon was apparently very light and delicious. I was particularly thrilled with the Dirty Cop-out . The portobello mushrooom (in the Dirty Cop-out was well-made and the mayonnaise -mustard combination on the arugula was delicious! Nothing extra was needed. Dirty Burger is open late (until 1.30 AM and is open for brunch. The only downside to Dirty Burger in Shoreditch is that there is no rest room."
