It was a nice place to eat. Authentic food, tasted good. It was a lot of food on the plate and it was more than enough. Very nice service

Sehr gutes Essen, freundliche Bedienung. Wir waren den zweiten Abend hier und wieder war das Essen sehr gut. Wirklich eine Empfehlung die sich lohnt.

Mein Stammrestaurant bei meinen Aufenthalten im wunderschönen Freinsheim.Deftige, regionale Speisen hervorragend zubereitet. Nette Bedienung.Gute Weine , frische Biere und alles zum fairen Preis.

We sat outside on a warm day, drank beer/Radlers and ate Flammkuchen - absolutely fantastic. Great waiter ad service but what really makes this place is the lovely location in the heart of the old town absolutely lovely.

Sehr angenehme,herzliche Atmosphäre.Service sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend.Ich habe den Klassiker gewählt die Pfälzer Platte,wirklich ein Pfälzer Gedicht,auf welches man nicht verzichten möchte.Alles in allem war alles super.Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

We had recommended this local restaurant from our hotel as open on a quiet Wednesday evening. The food was a nice surprise as we were disappointed in another historic city the day before. The waiter served us plentiful and good quality food and was pleased with our response to quality and taste. Very helpful and welcome. Good, honest local food. Good wine!

Visit many restaurants in this area of Palatinate and stumbled in this restaurant during a visit to Freinsheim. Since then we have visited this restaurant 5 times and we are always impressed by this kitchen. The liver dump soup is delicious and the best I have eaten in Palatinate. The local wines on the menu are great and can be picked up at the local vineyards. I would recommend visiting this place.

This ancient walled little town was our primary destination but the restaurant that we wanted to eat at was not available. Reluctantly we wandered and Am Eisentor. It looks typical German and a little bit plain. That was not true of the food which was great. We had a meat appetizer that was almost enough for a meal. The main course had tastes that were truly unique and delicious. They had smaller portions for our grandsons that also were outstanding. All in all the food and service was warm and friendly.

Wir waren am Freitag auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt und wollten noch etwas essen gehen. Im Eisentor bekamen wir noch einen Platz für 4 Personen. Die Bestellung wurde recht schnell aufgenommen und die Getränke kamen auch zügig an den Tisch. leider bekamen wir unser Essen, welches geschmacklich in Ordnung war, nur verzettelt an den Tisch, so daß wir nicht gemeinsam essen konnten, den der letzte bekam sein Essen, da war der 1. schon fertig. Eine kleine Anmerkung noch bezüglich dem Besteck in der Hoffnung der Gastronom liest dies. Es wäre von Vorteil ein paar Steakmesser zu kaufen, den das Besteck das wir hatten war grenzwertig und das Fleisch nur schwer zu schneiden, da die Messer stumpf waren.
