"We had a Valentine's Day dinner, which was a set menu for a set price. The staff were friendly and polite and the surroundings were very clean and attractive, with plenty of space between tables. The food was average, in particular the meat was a cheaper cut and slightly tougher than I had hoped for when ordered rare. In fairness, the desserts were lovely and we ended the meal on a high note. I would return, but would choose carefully from the menu and understand that this is a pub with a bistro attached, rather than a dedicated restaurant."

The Anchor is a traditional village pub that has updated itself for 21st century tastes in terms of food and decor. The food is very good, very reasonably priced and served in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Check out the guest ales.
