"Very disappointed! My Wife and I were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. I chose The Anise restaurant hoping it was somewhere special. To start with we were the only ones in the restaurant, always a bad sign, especially on a Friday evening! The waitress was very nice and very polite, but we were welcomed with the news there aren 't any scallops this evening ! That 's 20% of the starters not available, as there is only a choice of 5! The food was cold (starter and Main courses), which we couldn 't work out why, as they were not busy. The hotel has two restaurants, the Anise and the Bay Tree which is the more casual restaurant. We were halfway through our meal in the empty restaurant, when the waiting staff came in, pushed several tables together and used part of this room as an overflow from the other restaurant. What ambiance there was, had just been blown away. Will not be going back, unless they change their ways."

lovely overall dinning for a special occasion. Service was outstanding and had a knowledge of wines they were serving.

I was really looking forward to eating here after reading the reviews. My friend and I had a lovely time in the hotel and really enjoyed the Spa, but when we went for our evening meal it was a bit of a let down. The food looked okay and the staff were really nice, but the food was tasteless. I didn't enjoy it at all. I won't visit again.

Love the feel of this place, staff very friendly. The presentation of the food was outstanding and tasted as good as it looked, the scallops were delicious and well cooked. The duck was cooked to perfection and well presented and the accompiments were well suited to the meal. Service was well timed, didn't feel rushed. The wine was reasonably priced.

Having been brought up on Indian food, it is not a cuisine I often like to go out for. In my opinion, my mother does it best. That being said, having heard wonderful things about the renowned chef, Vivek Singh and his approach to Indian dining, I naturally jumped at the chance to sample his culinary delights at his award winning restaurant in the City, Cinnamon Kitchen – sister restaurant to the iconic, fine dining, Cinnamon Club in Westminster.

After I have been raised to Indian food, it is not a kitchen for which I often want to get out. I’m a huge fan of Vivek Singh, a chef who has helped elevate Indian cuisine away from the old pot” curry houses of the and and into fine dining.  The Cinnamon Club is a favourite of mine for a special treat, and it always meets expectations.  But there is no getting around the fact that you pay for the quality, the decor, and the location.  Cinnamon Kitchen in Devonshire Square, a short stroll from Liverpool Street, has often been called the Cinnamon Club’s younger and cooler sister.

I am a great fan of vivek singh, a cook that has helped to increase the Indian cuisine away from the old “3 pot” curry houses of the 1970s and 1980s and in fine restaurants. the cinnamon club is a favorite of me for a special tasty bite, and he always meets the expectations. but there is no way around the fact that they pay for the quality, the decor and the location. cinnamon kitchen in devonshire square, a short walk from the liverpool street, was often referred to as the younger and cooler sister of the cinnamon club.

easy from the hectic and driving the mainstream london, this bar is a little hidden shade, anyway physical. Obviously with a owner like vivek singh it will never really be hidden, but I suggest a visit for anyone who might not be just his existential might be aware of drinks named after anchorman (I was caught by the glass case of emotion' and it was wonderful enough) Add a great bar snack menu (of course I recommend the group adventures. although slightly limited in the choice they are great as a guide to a drink and to share in large groups. a negative...read more

"We go to Gravetye 3 or 4 times a year if we can and have been going for many many years over the tenures of several owners. It 's always a complete joy, and the current owner has done a fabulous job of getting the right people in, both inside and out. Tom Coward, the Head Gardener (ex. Dixter) has a vision and a long term plan that make continual visits over an extended period a joy every time we visit we are surprised by the continual changes we learn so much and the garden staff are super helpful and willing to discuss what they 're up to and why. The amazing oval massive kitchen garden that supplies the hotel is a source of wonderment and not to be missed. A visual and culinary feast. We 've never stayed there as we live reasonably close, but have eaten in both the old and new dining rooms many times. The new dining room sits harmoniously between the wings of the manor and although a very modern glass and steel construction, the inclusion of a fabulous antique (and uneven) parquet floor (ex. some french chateau) softens the feel and acoustics, making the room almost intimate. The floor to ceiling windows bring you right into the garden, even in the foulest of weather it 's a triumph of design. Then there 's the food. Apart from the presentation, which is exquisite, the flavours and textures always bring a broad grin, however grumpy I am! This is absolutely first rate British cuisine; the kitchen under Head Chef George Blogg is to be commended, as are the garden staff producing the freshest of produce. I occasionally try to photograph the plates, but invariably find I 've forgotten that rather crass move and have just launched in! Must also mention the front of house staff. Perfectly presented and mannered, they know exactly the boundary between staff and guest and make you feel completely comfortable and relaxed there is nothing stuffy or obsequious about Gravetye everything is pitched just spot on and nothing is too much trouble. We were there today for a birthday treat, but will be back again soon for a post family wedding get together. Cannot recommend too highly just an excellent few hours, whatever the weather. Walkability: Lots of paths. The lower areas are easy for those with limited mobility, however it might be tricky to get up to the kitchen garden if you 're not great on your feet. Food drinks: See my review."
