"I saw this place in the Michelin guide and was so excited to try a Michelin-recommended Vietnamese. I love Vietnamese food, especially pho and summer rolls. Sadly this place had an extremely disappointing offering. The pho was astoundingly bland, the broth had dismally little flavour. The best pho I've ever had (outside of south-east Asia) was in the chain, Pho, which I honestly can't believe I'm writing. The summer rolls here was also really disappointing. The filling was so boring and the dipping sauce was no more interesting than a hoisin you can buy in a supermarket. Thankfully the prices weren't terrible here, but I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. Maybe their non-vegetarian food is more flavoursome? I can't comment. But the things I tried were staggeringly bland. Sorry, Au Lac."

I tried one of their spicy soups and it was delicious. The price was reasonable and the service was very good. Will visit again asap.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I ordered takeout, so I cannot comment on the interior of the restaurant, but it appeared nice and cozy.

Vietnamese food is one of my favorite cuisines in the world, so I was delighted to discover a charming neighborhood restaurant hidden away in the area.

I ordered delivery on a Tuesday evening and I must say, the beef pho was absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. The packaging was also done really well, so there were no drippy containers to deal with. View menu

I recently visited Au Lac with a bunch of friends in February. What a time I had, reasonably priced menu with 11/10 taste. Would definitely recommend to a friend, nice cosy environment. Looking forward to when I next return!

I went with a group of friends everything was 5*! Service was great, food was delicious fair priced. Homemade lemon was just what I needed along side my meal to finish we shared the banana toffee dessert it was to die for! 10/10 would recommend.

Wonderful food and great service. Even though the place was packed they let us have a table and we got very friendly service. Food was very good. Love the papaya salad. It was delicious. The Bun Hue was also very good even though it was not as spicy as I'm used to. We will be back. View menu

Really nice, family-owned restaurant. I would recommend the Set B menu (if you’re sharing) or the flaming beef, but everything on the menu is exceptional and served with a warming smile. I hope this restaurant is around forever, as it’s one of the few authentic Vietnamese restaurants left in town, and in London generally. Super nice customer service too. Very attentive and polite. My guest once left an expensive Burberry scarf behind, I went by the next day and they had put it to the side and had been waiting for me. Can’t fault this restaurant. Go!

Came in with a few friends in early February for an impromptu dinner. A charmingly decorated restaurant with comfortable seating and a hospitable reception was already a sign that we had found a veritable treat. The menu is simple, and tight with popular Vietnamese dishes taking centre stage alongside some family recipes that were utterly divine. The owner was in the dining room, taking orders and making everyone feel welcome. A true family run experience. In the end our group paid a very reasonable amount of generous portions, good atmosphere and friendly staff. If you're curious about Vietnamese food and want the real McCoy, this is your best bet. Brilliant.
