"We are French, we live in Paris, we love l'Ile de la Cite more than anything. We have our best spots on the island and yesterday we decided to try something new, which in most cases, we know to be a mistake especially in such a tourist area. Just to say, trust our judgments. If you are tourist, just don't need to ready any further just DON'T go to this place.L'Ile de la Cite has a few OTHER places that are much better than this one, such as for example Le Flore en l'Isle (amazing view on Paris) or even a low key place such as Pomme Cannelle. In short the food at Au Lys d'Argent is just awful. This part of Paris is not where you want to ear crepes. You should go in the Montparnasse area. Yet crepes are not difficult to do and still they manage to serve us the worse crepes I had even eaten. They are not even tasteless, they tasted badly, or where uncooked (for the sugar ones). The soup was awful and definitely not home made. I took for dessert ice cream which were not even Berthillon ice cream but coming from some unknown place. To be honest it probably just comes from the supermarket and tasted awful, with a metallic taste as if they had kept the box open is some fridge for weeks in a row.Seriously this kind of restaurants makes me angry. It's not that expensive, but it's not because a place is not expensive that they don't have to serve bad food... you can do VERY good food for a lower price if that is your intention (Pomme Cannelle for example). It makes me angry for that and because such place is a DISGRACE to French cuisine. The worse is that because it's in a touristy place it just keeps having a lot of clients... it makes me sad that people coming from all ALL OTHER the word, taste that as their experience of French food. The owner of the place makes me think of the Thernadier in Huggo's book. The worse in the story maybe is that the owner ordered Chinese food for dinner which they get delivered by a delivery boy. If their food was good, they would eat it. They don't.Shame shame shame... you are a disgrace to France. Sadly there are more and more places like this in Paris and in France. Conclusion: seriously make an effort to read the review and just don't go there. You might not be the best person to judge what's good and what's not. So if you are like that and just need to follow the advice of people who have experience in that, pass your way. Just find another place, and avoid this poisonous place in every sense."

Nice place, atmosphere is very french! The crepe flambe was actually a flambe at the table! Good place to stop for a quick lunch bite.

We stopped with our tour guide as we walked through the Notre Dame area. We had some crepes and local cider. The meal was good, service was quick enough for a busy afternoon.

Conozco esta crepería desde el año 2004 y siempre que puedo regreso a ella. Las crepas son muy buenas, sus combinaciones de ingredientes me encantan y el servicio es bueno. Además al salir puedes tomar un maravilloso helado berthillon.

Just the right place to get away from the crowds around Notre Dame. Good basic food, with an emphasis on crepes, and not as overpriced as the competition nearby. A place where you have a chance to actually meet French people instead of Germans only. Friendly and attentive owner takes care of his customers.

A stone's throw from the Notre-Dame. They specialize in crepes but they do have decent salads as an alternative.Pros- attentive, polite service- good portion size for the greens- cozy- offer takeaway for crepes- speak some EnglishNeutral- tiny washroom downstairs- thought the duck should have been sliced a little thickerCons- (none)

Had dinner here and it was all very good. 3 out of 4 got crepes (2 savory and 1 sweet). Everyone said they were really good. I ended up getting the prix fix 3 course meal. Vegetable soup was ok, but nothing to stand out. The salmon tarte was a tad burnt at the end but the flavor was good. The chocolate desert however was superb. Lesson to take away... stick with the crepes and desert which seems to be their specialty.
