"Restaurant was recommended to us, we arrived around opening time (19.00 h.) at the restaurant and needed to wait a bit. After about a quarter of an hour we were seated at a table outside on the terras near the restaurant entrance-door (we were offered no choice) without a view. So we didn’t see the spectacular view as described.Looking at the menu we chose the menu TER ou MER ( 22 euro ), with red house wine (côtes du Rhone).Le Presse au poisson au caviar de courgette with crumbled olive and parmesanThe dish looked great but was highly disappointing. The flavor very flat, not well seasoned , the crumbled part was hardly recognizable in taste.Melon au Porto dans tous son etatsThe melon (Cantaloupe) was good, with smoked ham and cream with porto. As main course we chose L’idée du chef’, which was veal. The meat , not seasoned at all, cooked ok, with as side dish pommes de terre gratinées and tomatoes with rosemarinFor dessert we chose the Charlotte. It was served in a glass, like a trifle.Biscuit (or cake?) was the first layer, then abricote compote and on top vanilla-bavarois. For us it was not a traditional charlotte with again a very flat taste, except for the apricots, which were delicious. Conclusion: very average food, glad we didn’t take the more expensive 40 euro menuThe waiter was very friendly, the spectacular view we only saw on the parking lot, but it would definitely not have made up for the dinner."

Without doubt one of my favourite restaurants... Amazing food, amazing wine, beautiful views and warm and friendly service. Totally faultless.... (Also, a pretty great reward at the end of a walk from St Clare De Roche)

If you're looking for an authentic and affordable French lunch or dinner in Cote Rotie look no further. The food options are limited to 8-10 options but everything is made with local produce. Fish and meat options are equally attractive. The wine list is reasonable and diverse.

It is so much better to escape from highway to break our journey with a lunch on lovely place. Far from the traffic jam, this lovely restsurant give you a nice panorama view on the Rhone valley. The menu is really abordable and give a nice taste of local food. Of course for the driver don't abuse pf the wine degustation of Cote Rotie...The people are friendly welcome and you can be indoor or outdoor on terrasse. Cassolette d escargot or Melon with ham... good good for your lunch

We stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a place to have dinner during an overnight stay in the region. It is a top a winding road, at the top of a hill, which gives it a beautiful view of the surrounding vineyards. The glass windows are large, allowing diners to enjoy the view from inside the dining area. We managed to get a table, though the place seemed fairly popular. The service was nice, charming. The food literally melted in my mouth. It was one of the best meals. For two persons, dinner inclusive of desert and wine cost about 45 Euro. Definitely value for money. View menu

Sunday dinner, just arrived. This restaurant is the one of the only that is open in the Ampuis area, The starters were poor. over cooked salmon, directly from the fridge with asparagus that tasted from a tin. the second starter was poor as well. A mixture of peas, snow peas and string beans all covered in some kind of mayo. The fish was the only well prepared dish and the duck and the beef were poor at the least. So, maybe the chef was out that night... the food was really not as we expected. And what a difference between the amazing views of the river and the slopes of cote blonde while having a great cote rotie bottle, and the food they serve.

Perched atop a ridge overlooking the Rhone valley and the vineyards of the Cote Rotie , this restaurant is a 'must-visit place' if you are passing through the area. We were very lucky to get a table for 2000hrs on a Friday evening without booking and by 2100hrs the place was full - mainly local families and couples. We'll make sure to reserve a table in future and insist it's by the windows to better appreciate the unbeatable panoramic view whilst dining. The service was polite and prompt, with enough time for us to read the menu before ordering and an appropriate gap between courses. Menus are between 21€ and 40€. The food was well prepared from locally sourced ingredients (except for the fi...
