"After a long day viewing Parisian monuments and sights, we decided to venture on the wild side and seek out this restaurant, Aux Ministeres, pretty far off the tourist beaten track. We sat down at an outside table but didn't even bother ordering. The stench and smell of cigarette smoke hanging over the restaurant was simply unbearable. We were a little apprehensive while approaching the restaurant because one could smell and literally see the smoke from ten feet away. Very shabby outdoor tables, the food on other diners' plates looked unappetizing, huge mounds of french fries, and the clientele was certainly not dressed for a nice evening out. We actually walked there and made it, and couldn't take it and left. It is incredibly hard to believe why anyone in their right mind would read these reviews and make the same mistake that we did and actually seek it out. It is not worth the long walk by any means, but there are always those Midwesterners, Aussies, Canucks and Kiwis without taste buds who will think this restaurant has good cooking. NOT !!!!!!"

Not bad but nothing special but the view on the Eiffel tower which is amazing. Very typical parisian Brasserie

We were starving and hoping for a real meal after our visit to the Musee Rodin, but by the time we got to Aux Ministres, they were closing (early, as Bastille Day was the next day). Nevertheless, the helpful waitress scrounged up a nice ham and cheese sandwich for us, and a glass of wine and one of beer.

Aux Ministeres, located far away from tourist trap restaurants, and serving an area very critical at lunch times (big organizations and public offices around), is a great bistro/brasserie for a good lunch. The menu is very diverse, and their daily meal has many options. Quality and price are good, and the service, for Paris standards, is superb. I recommend it to anyone.

We ate at this restaurant many time during our stay in Paris because they were so entirely friendly and it was close to our hotel. The food is excellent as is the service! They must not get a lot of tourists, but they sure did treat us well and welcome us so warmly each time we entered. Thank you for such wonderful food and company! PLEASE do try the mousse here, it is DIVINE!

Service was extraordinarily attentive and helpful to these two Canadians who were fresh off of an overnight flight from Toronto. The lamb stew and my wife's fish (with some sort of really great sauce) were true taste treats. The prices were very good and the ambiance was very comfortable. We went back for a second time, but the dining room was closed for some reason that night. Too bad. It's a neighborhood gem, as far as I am concerned.

Have been to this restaurant several times as it is just around the corner from our house. It is a place that caters to the numerous civil servants, as indicates its name, in the building across the road, so it has to deliver quality. This far from the tourist track, you cannot simply rip off people and wait for the next batch, as do so many restaurants in Paris. Les Ministeres' daily plat du jour is nearly always delicious and reasonably priced. The waiters are kind of quizzical if they think you are a tourist, but warm up a lot once they know you.

This restaurant will hold a special place in my heart, as it was my first meal in Paris. It has been a lifelong dream to visit the city and it was fitting that the, meal we had was a sandwich fromage. We stopped in mid afternoon, between lunch and dinner, and the menu was limited to just sandwiches. I am sure some would dislike this, but it was exactly what I expected. The waitress was very understanding of my limited French skills, and helped me oriente our location on the map. I forgot to ask her name, but she even offered to take our photo. Turns out her camera was the same model as mine, which was lucky. She took a great photo of us and it turned out to be our only photo togetheron the tri...

We ended up here by accident since the local market nearby (Saxe Breteuil) turned out to be a traditional market selling fish, cheese, veggies etc rather than having any cooked food stalls (with the exception of one or two roast chicken stalls).Anyway, we loved this brasserie. Service was friendly (even though it was clear that we tourists), the outdoor seating area was packed with locals enjoying the food and the great weather, and the food was good value. It's not fine dining, nor does it pretend to be. It's the local brasserie - friendly, generous (see the photo) and a place to hang out. So if you happen to be in the area and want to eat as a local, do try this place.Total bill (for four)...
