"What can I say I have known chef Sean Jeffers since he was 16 washing up in our yacht club kitchen, he has gone leaps and ,bounds and beyond ,he and his team smashed it out the park tonight absolutely delicious food and great service .started with some snacks some beautiful parmesan, truffle ,onion jam doughnuts WOW,fresh crisp ,soft focaccia. Then came the starter slow cooked IOW beef crumpet ,onion jam horseradish parsley emulsion, stunning, for main I had the baked cod ,fish mouse tortellini, keta, leek jus , smoked bacon and for me the showstopper pickled mussels BEAUTIFUL...... The place to be ,the place to go the unforgettable Red lion of Freshwater 5 stars"

"First time going and would love to go again and again and,........ well you get the idea. Service was excellent, having chosen the seafood combo it came well presented, with guidance on how to make sure it was cooked through. The accompanying salad was fresh and tasty. My partner had fillet steak and let me try some. Honestly, the best steak I’ve ever had! Definitely top of my favourite eating places!!!"

"I love our experience with The Cow restaurant., Theres about 20-26 people in our group and only half have manage to book a table but the lady at the reception and the serving girl had accomodatrd us and help us get situated . The food is lovely, my hubby and I shared a roast dinner , because we had late hotel breakfast and our son had the smoke burger, Even though we are not really hungry we just want to try the place as we are going back to Essex that afternoon , a friend of mine highly recommended the place and it doesnt disappoint. I would love to come back whenever i am in the area. Will gladly recommend. ????"

"Just had lunch at the Terrace today with some good friends. We were booked on a table outside on the terrace as we have a dog. I, was phoned by the restaurant yesterday and asked if we would be happy to move to a table indoors as the weather was looking as though it might be raining. I reminded them that we would have our dog with us, but they said, if the dog was well behaved we could bring him indoors too. So we had a table in the restaurant, the weather today did turn out to be rather thundery, and wet. We arrived and were shown to the table and were offered water for our dog. The menu was really good with a great selection of seafood, meat and vegetarian and vegan options. My wife and I chose scallops for a starter, which were delicious, our friends had pâté and crispy Cauliflower fritters. We all also chose different main courses, Pork steak with black pudding on a bed of parsley mash for me, sea bass with smashed new potatoes with crab meat for my wife, baked cod and a mushroom and truffle risotto for our friends. We all enjoyed our food, which was beautifully presented. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. Too full for a desert we all had coffee to finish. The bill when it came was very reasonable. We will definitely go back again."
