"We chose the Avon Causeway Pub because it was dog friendly. We loved seeing the Pullman linked to the side of the Avon Causeway Pub when we drive into the carpark. It was warm and cosy inside. The landlady Amanda was very friendly and made us feel really welcome. The staff made a fuss of our dog and gave him treats. The menu had so many tasty things on offer it was difficult to choose. I had the crab cakes with chunky chips, my daughter had the vegan pie and my son in law had a burger with fries. All three of us were blown away as it was the tastiest meal we had eaten in a very long time. Have to say as an 86 year old that it was great to receive excellent customer service which nowadays seems to be the exception and not the rule. We will be sure to call again when we are back in the area and will recommend it to everyone. It was a real treat for my daughter who usually has very limited choices as a vegan. All round it was top notch and a wonderful experience. Thanks Amanda and the rest of the staff!"

The staff can be unfriendly and unwelcoming, which is a shame as it could be a lovely spot. The food is nice although quite expensive.

We enjoyed a nice dinner on the first night and found the atmosphere in the pub/restaurant area to be pleasant. Breakfast both mornings offered a wide selection to choose from and was very tasty. Even the doggy guests were well taken care of. Amanda and Sarah were very helpful and sociable, taking great care of all guests during their stay. We would definitely return to the Avon Causeway in the future.

The Avon Causeway proved to be a really good choice for our weekend away celebrating my partner's recent birthday. The staff were so polite, friendly and helpful throughout the stay, and we enjoyed many chats with most of them. The food we experienced at breakfast time and the evening were very well cooked, and extremely tasty. The rooms being well stocked, and the bed very comfortable. Amanda and Sarah run a very good ship indeed. I would recommend a stay at the Avon Causeway Hotel to anyone. View menu

After taking a stroll with my family and their dog, Fred, we decided to stop by for a drink before heading home. The service was excellent. The pub was cozy, welcoming, and filled with friendly people and a few dogs. The owner came over to check on us, and Fred happily indulged in some doggy treats. All the dogs were offered a little treat. This rural pub is very inviting, and although I have not tried the food personally, my brother mentioned that it is delicious. They also offer accommodation for those interested.

My wife and I celebrated my birthday at the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel is dog friendly, we took our 2 dogs along with us. Amanda and Sarah were most welcoming, I made an error in my booking, I asked for a certain room, when I pointed out my mistake, Amanda was most accommodating and moved us to the room we wanted, couldn’t have been made easier. Breakfast experience was very good, the dogs got there own dishes! The hotel is close to good long dog walks, also not far from Christchurch and Bournemouth, all in all a very friendly hotel, good food and very nice staff

I have visited the Avon Causeway since October with 8 of my mum friends with our babies. At first we were made to feel very welcome when our babies were newborn. However, recently the level of service we have received has really deteriorated. On Wednesday, a member of staff was particularly rude to me. I made the manager aware and I’m afraid to say the manager’s response was also incredibly poor. Despite always leaving the pub tidy and ensuring our babies do not disturb other guests here, we have been made to feel most unwelcome and will not be returning. If you are planning on visiting here with young babies, be warned you will not be made to feel welcome! View menu

Booked Sunday lunch for 8 people, we were squashed into a table near the door to the garden, was barely any room between us and the table next door, it was also unbearably hot! Whilst the staff were lovely, I felt that being tucked around the corner was a disadvantage to us as I think we may have been forgotten and on a couple of occasions had to search for a member of staff! The majority of us ordered Sunday roasts which I have ordered before and enjoyed but on this occasion it was not as good, the roast potatoes were dry as was the chicken the roasties were tasteless, the beef veg were nice. We love a roast but on this occasion was not up to scratch. Sort you roasties out and we’ll be back...

During our second stay at this restaurant, we found both pros and cons. The pros include very comfortable beds, pleasant staff, good cooked breakfast, easy parking, cleanliness, strategic location, plenty of room sockets, hot water at all times, controllable radiator, plenty of hangers, and a fair price. However, there were some cons as well. We were disappointed to find no cereals for breakfast and no toilet brush in the room. Additionally, the evening food menu was strange and not to our liking, as it lacked straightforward items like pate or breaded mushrooms. It was difficult to find something appetizing to eat, which was the same experience for both of us during our visits six years apa...
