"I visited this restaurant after my friend, a native Nicoise, recommended it. I am an American and I have been living in Nice for about a month, going out to lunch almost every day. I arrived at the restaurant somewhat late (13:45) and it was busy. They seated me at a table literally almost blocking the door to the toilet, so that every time someone went into the toilet, he/she had to step over me. In addition, there was the distinct smell of urine, not exactly the smell one wants to accompany one's lunch.I ordered the gambas (shrimp) which were very good, but the service was negligent and unfriendly. I felt like I was crashing a "locals" party. This experience of negligence and unfriendliness is my first such experience in Nice, so I was depressed to be treated so badly. While I am not fluent in French, I get along, and I try hard to "blend in" with the local customs etc."

Small old fashioned bar and restaurant in Vieux Nice. It is full most of the time. Most of the customers are local people. The food is good and the prices even better.

We visited the restaurant for lunch and had the lunch menu including starter, main and dessert. Great and simple food and good service. We ended up paying 34 euros for two persons including coffee and rose wine. We will definitely return next time we are in Nice!

this simple and comfortable brewery is in the land of the old town and offers an excellent home-made menu really old. I really enjoyed the traditional tastes and good rosé wine. Get ready to wait for a table because everyone knows it's the place to be so much waiting queue. I highly recommend lentils with sausages View menu

We chose the place due to the ratings we saw in the window and that was really bad decision. I have never eaten such a bad food! I wanted to try Nice salad and that was a huge disappointment. It looked like almost every ingredient in the salad was almost outdated. It tasted really bad! Service was even worse. The old lady was rude and not even polite. I would never come back!

This lovely little bistro can get very crowded for lunch so get there by noon. I really enjoyed my salad Nicoise, perfectly dressed, delicious and beautiful fresh ingredients. My boyfriend enjoyed the plat du jour which started with a delicious leek tart, then grilled tuna over salad, finished with a very good cheese plate. All fresh and tasty. Very good service as well. Give it a try!

I came here several times now. never lacks good food. It's the traditional nicosy cuisine. the crowd is very local, people who live and work in and around the region. It's really a very basic place, don't expect something extraordinary. it is a few meters from the fish market, no surprise it often makes fish dishes - the last time I had sardine doughs followed by a salmon tartar with potato in the oven View menu

We visited this after reading the good reviews. After pinpointing on google maps we managed to locate this small bar. We where given a table upstairs as they where very busy and we both had the chefs salad. Good food, very reasonable compared to the norm in Nice, when we asked for the bill the gentleman that served us took a pen and wrote the price on the tablecloth, we would visit again if we go back to Nice.

Lunch time only, this packed restaurant does real Nicois food. The food is fresh, well cooked, and tasty. The €8 dish of the day represents excellent value for money and changes daily. My personal take on the restaurant is that it is like the excellent "Bistrot d'Antoine" but a fraction of the price with the dish of the day being the one item on the menu :-). My advice is walk past on a regular basis, and when you see a dish of the day you like stop in.
