"We have had some delicious lunches here over the past few years and so booked a table 3 weeks before a special occasion. When we arrived we were greeted with the news that the chef had left last week so they couldn't serve the lunch menu only sandwiches and a few light bites. They had my telephone number why couldn't they have taken the trouble to ring me in advance and explain. I suppose it was too much trouble. We had some very ordinary sandwiches and left."

Lovely place, clean, cosy rooms. Amazing view. Good food. More than pet friendly. We had a beautiful experience during the Easter break.

Excellent food and quick, polite service. Proper portion sizes. I had the lamb shank and it was delicious. Superb views across Morecambe Bay.

Visiting Ulverston for the day and stumbled on this gem, right on the waters edge with lovely views. Friendly and helpful staff, quick service and delicious crab sandwiches. We will definitely be back.

Great meal with a wonderful location and view. The service was very attentive, but not overpowering. I love the attention to detail that you often do not get nowadays eg. Homemade bread rolls and butter shaped like swans.

Perfect location on a walk or cycle to the canal. We only stayed for a drink and sat outside. The staff were friendly but the wine wasn't so great. I'll definitely stop there again though because of its perfect location when on a cycle.

We’re local to the Bay Horse although we do eat at other places each time we return it reminds us they serve the best food in the area. Each dish we try is so tasty and how real food should be served. The service is also excellent, attentive but not too much and really friendly.

We enjoyed lunch in the conservatory and the service was good however the property needs a full upgrade as it is outdated and worn. Do not visit the toilets which whilst clean were badly in need of modernisation. Please improve the property to match up to the standard of the food!

Enjoyed 2 nights in a room overlooking the Bay Room was adequate with comfortable bed/plenty of towels. The TV is in an odd location however we were only in the room a short time so no real problem The food is amazing full breakfast was delicious and we also had 1 evening meal highly recommend. A bit of a walk from town centre but again not a problem. would definitely visit again.

Attracted by location, with spacious conservatory overlooking Morecambe Bay. Real ale, and food menu which has a big range of interesting options. I enjoyed greatly minced pork medallions which included a little cheese and leek, with lovely stir fried veg, though chunky chips were a little boring £20). One of our party had hot beef sandwich extremely generous amount of beef which looked excellent £10). Hope to go again.

"Staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. They were also very kind to our dog. We had drinks and food and though the drinks were good, the food was not. The words 'frozen ' and 'microwave ' were forefront in my mind throughout. The mash potato I had with my pie was face meltingly hot suggesting the microwave was used, and my wife 's battered fish was mushy and watery suggesting it was deep fried from frozen. The batter was also only about 1mm thick and was like wise mushy. The meat in my chunky steak pie was definatly chunky but was a little too firm (not tough, just not tender. Probably the wrong cut of meat rather than badly cooked). I then had the caramel apple pie as did another member of my party. While his was hot, mine was cold. I had mine with cream which when it arrived, had bubbles in and was luke warm. What I think happened was that mine was microwaved first and then drowned in cream and left to sit while the other was microwaved. This mean mine cooled in the cream while the cream warmed. It also meant that the pastry on the bottom went soggy, and from the rest of the pastry, it didn 't seem like it had much crisp to begin with. Now I know that times are hard and pubs like this can 't be expected to make everything from scratch, but there are 3 other pubs close by and unfortunately this one is doing nothing to stand out from the others, in terms of food anyway. Overall, a nice place for a quiet drink, but I 'll not be back for the food. The only saving grace was the price; £80 for 2 rounds of drinks (1 pint, 1 coke and 2 halves per round), 4 mains and 2 desserts...I suppose you get that you pay for though..."
