"This place is lovely. Someone has really paid attention to detail. The decor is lovely but little things like a pizza cutter with the cutlery is so nice. Great selection of pizzas-some with quite unusual toppings like scam or a cheese and honey. Really delicious and good portions. Great wine. Their own gelato too. The staff are really attentive and friendly. I wish for them that it had been busier on a Saturday night during the summer. But then again the whole town was quiet. If you live nearby, please pay them a visit! If you are a pizza lover like me, you won’t regret it. They do take away pizza too. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"

"After having had a succession of mediocre to poor meals from far Pavilion over the last 18 months, I felt compelled to write this review. Partly out of disappointment; as this used to be by far the best Indian restaurant in the whole area. However, since Covid, and particularly over the last two years, the quality of the food has dropped considerably, while the prices have continued to increase. (This is now one of the most expensive takeaway options in the area Around two years ago, for some reason (perhaps a change of chef? , they started to change the flavour of their dishes which have become steadily more bland and tasteless. To the point where a lot of dishes now just seem to taste the same. Unfortunately, the quantity and quality of the meat in the dishes has also really dropped. For example, where you used to get nice chunks of chicken breast we had a chicken balti the other night, which was literally tiny strips of chicken with sauce – and that was it! Another favourite dish used to be the lamb Rogan Josh. Where the lamb used be lovely and tender, of late it’s been tough, undercooked and fatty. Such a disappointment to write this review as this used to be such a good restaurant! We won’t be hurrying back now unfortunately, which is a real shame Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4"

"This is a lovely pub on the canal at Hest Bank. However a couple of niggles. We had a drink there last night. Good booze and reasonable prices. We decided to go back tonight and have a meal. We could not eat in the restaurant which was fine as we had our dog. We had to sit between the restaurant and the main part of the bar. There was a folk group singing there but when we arrived they took up most of the area. Their music was good and it would have bennice to listen to them but the piped music from the almost empty restaurant was so loud with a speaker just above our heads. My friend was getting really agitated as he had two competing styles of music paying in each ear. Why have a live band and play terrible music so loudly to almost no one. The steak and ale pie was OK drowned in a thick over salty sauce but I know this is how they eat in this area as I used to live here many years ago. My friend said his fish and chips were OK but could not recognise the fish. It did not say haddock or cod but for £14.50 you expect something decent. Instead it was pollock that dry tasteless fish that no self respecting restaurant would serve. You might be unlucky enough to get it in a cheap fish and chip shop for £8 or £9 quid. The two guys who were serving were welcoming and pleasant but it was a slightly disappointing experience. If you have good live music please don't drown it out with overloud garbage and if you are serving nasty cheap pollock for your fish and chips please put it on the menu so it can be avoided."

"Booked for special meal for friends who had travelled 60 miles. Not open at 1.00 for 1.15 booking and was told no food today. I had a confirmed booking which I showed I had a confirmation. Left very unhappy. Will never go again. Tried to speak to someone later on phone. I left 2 messages but ignored. What a way to run a business!!. One really angry person."

"We had hoped for a table for four since it would have given us more space, especially as we were seated near the doors that lead outside and close to the ladies' restroom, which had a nice decor. My mother ended up shifting her chair for comfort. Although the restaurant was quite empty, we didn't have to wait long for our food, which was a plus since I'd heard from others that delays could be common. The menu had some options, but my mother opted for lasagna instead of the curry she was looking forward to, and unfortunately, she found it a bit disappointing. It tasted like a reheated meal. However, I thoroughly enjoyed my gammon! It came with a delicious Coke and whiskey sauce that I could’ve eaten by the bowlful. We were both quite full after our mains, but after a brief pause, we decided to indulge in some mini desserts along with a hot chocolate. Overall, it was a delightful experience!"
