"in the hamburger “Portugiesenviertel”, situated between the streets venusberg and Johannisbollwerk/Vorsatz, a restaurant corresponding to the name of the quarter accrues to the next ... fifteen, twenty years ago the quarter was still considered to be a secret tip, today the tourist is strolling around here, and numerous of these restaurants should be rented in summer and then mainly at the weekend of the fairy-season... especially because it doesn't bend around the year. that would certainly not be helpful, because in the beira rio there are still many Portuguese, but rather under the week and at the weekend to later hour. as nossek said we had problems with the reservation for our golocal meeting in another restaurant, I suggested to him the beira rio. not groundless, but already with a somewhat mulsifying feeling. on the one hand, I was sure that they could all accommodate us here and also thought the very simple ambiente was suitable for getting to know each other in the “locker” frame, on the other hand I was afraid that some might “be too easy here. what should it be, you have to risk something : and you can't do it to all. in the beira rio you will find neither serrated, fried nor geduned on the map, also “on” and “on”. here is the opposite: Iberian fishermen and kitchen. simple, honest, authentic and the main ingredients are wonderfully fresh. Although the brave, the scampi in garlic sauce, as well as the venus mussels have irritated me, I have dispensed with an appetizer with a heavy heart, because I already knew which portions are being served here. at the end of my corner hanging in the shallows was not the sense of our meeting. but perhaps I should have announced something before: “Contributions are falling out, because of isn’t that, focus on the fish or the meat!” the mini “seal plate”, which has always been handed to each dish, has caused great amazement ... “What should this be?” a quarter tomate, a slice of salat cucumber, rasp carrots, a hauch icebergsalat and a few honed carvings from red cabbage, the whole untreated, so nacky ... grins. and more? It is served here almost only with small potato chips or kartoffel chips, and this has also been forever... here too, the beira rio is in my eyes well-off from most restaurants in the quarter, they continue as before. without great concessions to the numerous tourist. my bacalhau (stock fish à casa (16,00 € had a wonderful consistency and was nicely juicy. the “Casa” sauce with a swash and garlic was very aromatic and dedicating, but far from covering the taste of the fish. from the chips I only ate a few... they shouldn't burden mine unnecessarily. and yet I didn't make my portion as usual, and I'm what you call a good eater. my tablelor had ordered the cannon in a tonpot, I was allowed to taste and then wanted to put myself in the wonderful sauce, which was characterized by a good but inferior sharpness ... maybe next time. or do I then take the lamb chops that, as usual from the south, can keep their fat edge and are so sensationally delicate, or the unbeatable fresh grilled dorade, which usually finds itself on the special map? or, or, right? I have to return here more often..."

The fish plate for two was really very good, the starter plate would not have been absolutely needed, without pre-order hardly feasible

Lovely Portuguese restaurant, which is always busy, but if they are pushed, you can eat on the bar. Be warned. Go hungry. The portions are huge. Grilled salmon is actually one and a half salmon steaks with vegetables and salad. The fish kebabs are also...lovely, but I cannot manage to eat the whole portion alone. Staff are friendly. I studied in Portugal so I know Portuguese cooking well. This places is great. I will definatelly visit again. View menu

Since there are many non Portuguese restaurants in the Portuguese Quarter in Hamburg, we paid attention to go to a Portuguese restaurant and were quite satisfied with our choice. Beira-Rio calls itself a fish restaurant, so most of the dishes are based on fish or...mussels. Except for salad there are no vegetarian options, but when I asked them, I received a great dish with mushroom and some kind of potatoe crisps. It tasted good and was plentiful. My colleagues also liked their food. Service was very attentive and nice. For Hamburg standards prices are quite reasonable.

my friend and I went on Sunday October in this restaurant. we ordered a paella with fish asking whether it was already made or whether it was fresh. the waiter told us it was absolutely fresh. When the plate arrived, I noticed that it was cooked in many times and not really in the paella the fish was old and you could notice it from the taste of the garnel and muddling. of course it was already prepared and it could be that it was frozen with old fish. I told the waiter he told me it was made on German people and I am not the cowardly unfair service. I had a stomachache on the afternoon.

this locality, which was selected for our golocal meeting, is not far from the landing bridges and so one punctually whipped up with the others to the meeting point against 19 o'clock! After being more people than planned from the local standpoint, the tables were moved and put together, so that you could take at least 2 long table rows. after the drinks were taken, everyone looked into the menu, which is offered to interesting Portuguese Spanish dishes. after all had ordered came from the kitchen a greeting in the form of white bread with aioli, really delicious! I chose pork on Portuguese art in ceramic pot. as a supplement a salad plate that came to me a little sweet of taste. for this, t... View menu

I don't have to write much anymore, because my partner kisto has written most of it. so some things I still have. location of the location: right opposite the land bridges u bahn and s railway station landing bridges opposite the hotel next to the feed: super decorated beautiful selection of fish, meat, appetizers, drinks taste very good, all fresh price, performance ratio completely in order. very tasty and exceptional I also found the Portuguese beer from the barrel, where else did you have something like that? what I liked less: our fish plate was only lukewarm, so we had to eat immediately and not wait until everything they had eaten. what I didn't like was the chauvy behavior of the wai...

update from august 2018: the beira rio has moved to a few steps and is now located directly at the stations. the environment is now bright and objective, but by no means uncomfortable. overall, it is better maintained, an impression that goes on in the washrooms in the cellar. the hard work between the workers and the guests is still loose, and the quality of the food and above all the scope has remained, as I described below. then changed the shape of the harbour, of new construction were repaired, container changed the stowing farms and instead of the robbing muscle protest bourgeois specialists were asked, which for the evening immediately pushed into the domestic rows. this led to a vacu...
