Jane was a lovely host. On our first visit, we were given a warm welcome and a hearty breakfast great value for money. On the second day we were greeted as regulars! Tasty food particularly the fried slice) clean and bright environment and a warm welcome.

We decided to try this cafe for breakfast rather than eat at the hotel. We were very pleased that we did so. The food was cooked to order and was very high quality. The service was excellent and the food was very reasonably priced. We would recommend this to meat eaters and vegetarians alike.

Been going here for 10 years now. Jane is an amazing, professional chef has a naturally friendly welcoming personality, as everyone says. Great quality food, great price. Visited Brighton for the first time. Did not want to pay for exorbitant hotel breakfast so looked online for a cafe. Lots of smashed avocado on sourdough which is not what we were looking for. We googled....greasy spoon Brighton and Belchers popped up. It was exactly what we wanted, the atmosphere was like being round a mate's house, food was perfect (full English), it was generous, hot and the eggs were cooked to absolute perfection.

The owner is a lovely member of Brighton community. She is generous caring women and that shows in her food. I recently moved to Brighton and this was the first place a ate, I love a greasy spoon but there 's nothing greasy about the food here. portions are generous, delicious and its spotlessly clean. The food is home cooked and tastes great , It cash only and no frills. It seems breakfast have become over complicated these days and this place is traditional and fabulous.

It was a quiet day and I asked if dogs were allowed, only if they were well behaved. So my dogs and I sat waiting for my breakfast and I started wondering how the cafe stayed open? It soon became VERY clear, the lady who works there was so nice and friendly, she was such a lovely person. She greeted the regulars by name and had a little chat and my dogs and I were made to feel so welcome it felt like we had been coming there for years.
