"As my family lives in Germany and we go there often I was delighted to find the Beer Hall close to Liverpool Street Station. I have eaten in many BierHaller in Dresden, Munich, Augsburg and Stuttgart and they are always good value. Atmosphere depends on when you go and yesterday lunchtime was somewhat quiet, but I suspect that is not always the case when the band starts up. A good selection on the menu, and I had chicken schnitzel and my colleague the sausage plate. Both were good and the chips so much better than the skinny frites you usually get in Germany. Sauce in a pot was a good idea too.The Strudel however, which we both had, was very poor. Flat pastry and not a sultana in sight, on a plate swimming with cream. Strudel is best with ice cream, but Coppenrath Weise or even Tesco it was not. We had the rose, which was German and ok and the service was satisfactory."

5 stars for the service, would be 3 for vegeterian food. Its a really nice cosy restaurant. I had a non alcohol wheat beer which was delicious. The service was fast and very helpful, the staff are lovely. Food was OK but I'm a vegetarian so felt a bit limited, probably a better experience for meat eaters. I would return.

The restaurant offers a wide selection of quality German beers, though they are on the pricier side. Three steins cost Β£43. We didn't try the food this time, but it appeared to be hearty and satisfying. The bathroom facilities were more suitable for a sports stadium than for Covent Garden. I would return to this restaurant, but I would probably explore other options after a few drinks. View menu

The lunch at this restaurant was decent and reasonably priced. We stopped in for a pint and a quick bite. The place was starting to get busy, but they seemed to be short-staffed. We had to order our own drinks at the bar and waited for a waitress to take our food orders. The Obatzda Bavarian cheese spread was okay, but would have been better served warm. The two Debreziner sausages with sauerkraut and horseradish were tasty. The mushroom soup with a pretzel was good. The pretzels would have been better served warm. Overall, everything was good.

This German pub is the best I've ever been to, with a fantastic selection of beer and delicious food. It's perfect for large groups, as we had our company Christmas party here. The pub had everything you could want for a great evening: live music, platters of cheese, ham, sausages, and schnitzel, and of course, steins of beer! I have to give a special mention to the German sausages they served, even better than the ones I had at Oktoberfest in Munich! The mulled wine was served in a cute boot-shaped cup and had a delicious, festive flavor - just what I needed for the night. To top it all off, the waitress offered rounds of shots at the end of the party.

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were Β£4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
