"We went here twice for lunch, could not fault them. Great chef, really friendly and enthusiastic. I had the wonderful Flammkuchen and my partner had some great soup. We had some decent wine, local if I recall and it was warm and cosy inside. Someone...wrote a review complaining about the toilet being upstairs: really? This building is at least a few hundred years old, having a toilet that is upstairs is not a big deal. I understand if you are disabled, this would be a problem, but sadly most ancient towns are like this. That said there is a perfectly adequate public toilet just off the square that would be accessible. Anyway....I would not hold this against the restaurant"

It's hard traveling in Europe with the lack of reviews, but chose to have dinner and drinks here. The restaurant is located in a square with a fountain,..

We enjoyed the food and the location after a long day of walking and a great conversation with the owner who gave us amazing tips. The Schnitzle and other food was great of course

enjoyed some lovely local beer and wine plus a great Flammkuchen lunch today. The guy who served us was friendly and efficient and the food was lovely and fresh and tasty. Returned for an evening beer

Sit outside in the market Square very pleasant.Prices not to bad, we only had a cup of tea and coffee. The toilet though is through the inside part and up two flights of stairs! Don't be desperate nor disabled here

My partner and i dined at this restaurant for lunch with six friends. We all ordered Goulash Soup for lunch. Can i just say that this is by far the best plate of Goulash soup i have eaten in years. It was simply delicious. Highly...recommended to visit this lovely restaurant if you are in Lochem

The groups decided to have lingered around Cochem until dinnertime. We had our choice to still be in the Markt square and have chosen this restaurant for our last stop. The service was good and staff were courteous and helpful. We enjoyed the food as...much as we enjoyed people watching after the meal. we had a good choice of wine too. Mosel is a wine region so we did not miss this opportunity. Altogether our dinner was truly enjoying

Horrible. We ordered four flammekuchen for four of us. Since this is the only food this place serves except some drinks, we thought it will be good. But we were so grossly wrong. Everything about the food was wrong. The dough was raw, the toppings...were also raw, the flammekuchens except in the periphery was runny and full of liquid. Probably the cook forgot to switch on the oven. Loading the though with loads of uncooked toppings and charging extra for them is not how you treat your customers. Don't get deceived by some good reviews here and on TripAdvisor. The only good thing about the place is probably the location. Honestly if it was possible I would have given star

"I read some reviews and heard from friends that this was thé place to eat in Cochem am Mosel, so we were very excited to find the restaurant near empty on our arrival as we had expected a wait. There was nobody to greet us as we walked in so after waiting politely waiting at the entrance for a bit we decided to seat ourselves awaiting the the host, waiter/waitress to come and greet us.It took another 5 minutes for the waitress to show up. As soon as she showed up she kindly requested us to move from the cozy booth-like spacious table to a smaller wooden table. Since the entire restaurant was empty, with the exception of one gentleman and it was about an hour before closing we did not see her point to keep the large table for non-guests so we kindly declined. The frauleins entire attitude changed and we could hear her screaming and yelling in the kitchen to the chef. She then proceeded to vent her grief to the other patron in German. One might imagine her surprise when I kindly informed her that I was able to understand her conversations ( I am Dutch so I understand the language ) and did not appreciate her treating us this way. Being used to American customer service I do lower my standards somewhat but to be told smack about a semi-professional in a small town restaurant in the middle of nowhere is not something I accept. We were looking forward to taste the local food but were quite frankly concerned that this would come with some non-sanitary condiments."
