"terrible. we ordered four flame cakes for four of us. because this is the only food that this place serves with taking some drinks, we thought it will be good. but we were so grossly wrong. everything about eating was wrong. the diligent was raw, the beats. were also raw, the flame cake except in the peripheral was liquid and full. Probably the cook forgot to turn on the many. load this though with loads of uncooked toppings and charge extra for them is not how they treat their customers. do not be fooled by some good reviews here and on tripadvisor. the only good one at this place is probably the location. honestly, if it were possible, I would have given -1 star."

enjoyed some lovely local beer and wine plus a great Flammkuchen lunch today. The guy who served us was friendly and efficient and the food was lovely and fresh and tasty. Returned for an evening beer!

This is a very nice terrace on the Market Square in the historic centre of the city. Sit down beside the outdoor fire (it was very cold when we were in Cochem), drink a warm gluhwein or a cappuccino and enjoy....

Sit outside in the market Square very pleasant.Prices not to bad, we only had a cup of tea and coffee. The toilet though is through the inside part and up two flights of stairs! Don't be desperate nor disabled here! View menu

We were walking through town after visiting the castle, and stopped here for an Eis Kaffe, a delicious coffee drink that we discovered in Germany. We were spending the day in Cochem while on a river cruise. The Eis Kaffe was one of the best...we had, and the service was very friendly and helpful, as none of the four of us spoke German. If we are ever in Cochem again, we will certainly stop in here.

the owner could not have been charming and welcoming, he speaks great English (and German, natural) and is a full of information for local attractions, eating, wine, unique local beer and entertainment. he also made us fantastic carving and other local fare. because how...touristy the little place can look, this little caffe was a perfect curse and we made us feel as if we had known the owner/cook for years.

It's hard traveling in Europe with the lack of reviews, but chose to have dinner and drinks here. The restaurant is located in a square with a fountain, which leads to great people watching. We had the onion soup and the Nuremberg sausages on a...roll. I found them to be both tasty and satisfying. It did take awhile, mind you this is Europe, but it was worth the wait. We would definitely return to try more of their cuisine. View menu

The groups decided to have lingered around Cochem until dinnertime. We had our choice to still be in the Markt square and have chosen this restaurant for our last stop. The service was good and staff were courteous and helpful. We enjoyed the food as...much as we enjoyed people watching after the meal. we had a good choice of wine too. Mosel is a wine region so we did not miss this opportunity. Altogether our dinner was truly enjoying.

we went here twice for lunch, couldn't blame them. large chef, very friendly and enthusiastic. I had the wonderful flamecake and my partner had a great suppe. we had a decent wein, local when I remember and it was warm and cozy inside. someone. has a review of the toilet above complained: really? this building is at least a few hundred years old, with a toilet that above is not a big thing. I understand if they are disabled, that would be a problem, but unfortunately most old cities are so. that said there is a perfect public toilet right at the place that would be accessible. anyway. I wouldn't hold it against the restaurant.

"I read some reviews and heard from friends that this was thé place to eat in Cochem am Mosel, so we were very excited to find the restaurant near empty on our arrival as we had expected a wait. There was nobody to greet us as we walked in so after waiting politely waiting at the entrance for a bit we decided to seat ourselves awaiting the the host, waiter/waitress to come and greet us.It took another 5 minutes for the waitress to show up. As soon as she showed up she kindly requested us to move from the cozy booth-like spacious table to a smaller wooden table. Since the entire restaurant was empty, with the exception of one gentleman and it was about an hour before closing we did not see her point to keep the large table for non-guests so we kindly declined. The frauleins entire attitude changed and we could hear her screaming and yelling in the kitchen to the chef. She then proceeded to vent her grief to the other patron in German. One might imagine her surprise when I kindly informed her that I was able to understand her conversations ( I am Dutch so I understand the language ) and did not appreciate her treating us this way. Being used to American customer service I do lower my standards somewhat but to be told smack about a semi-professional in a small town restaurant in the middle of nowhere is not something I accept. We were looking forward to taste the local food but were quite frankly concerned that this would come with some non-sanitary condiments."
