"We had no reservation but were seated in 5 minutes. Reviews mentioned grumpy staff but I didn't find it to be that exactly. A little "direct" during busy hours, no complaints here. The small bread rolls with house made butter were warm and brilliant. The bruschetta was fresh, crispy and perfect to start with. I ordered the chef's tortellini which was half cream sauce and half red. The tortellini were stuffed with different fillings based on the corresponding sauce. It was hot and cooked to perfection when served. My wife ordered a tagliatelle dish that I tried and was impressed with. Wine list was good and the decor/atmosphere was very inviting."

Got us in about an hour before closing. Food was very good and did not take a super long time. The inside is so cool as well!!

Highly recommend this restaurant. Meals are delicious, many options on menu, reasonably priced, service was excellent. Our hotel suggested this restaurant, we ate here twice during our 3 day stay in Cochem.

This lovely place is located just outside the city center and away from the tourist traps. We walked there over the old city walls and back over the normal road They serve decent Italian food, nothing extraordinary but we enjoyed it View menu

Great restaurant...very atmospheric! Beautiful dinning room....felt like you were in a wine cave. The owner was very friendly to us and shared some stories. I had the veggie pizza with added arugula...delicious. Our waitress was top notch and the wine superb.

Tumbled here late at night even though trip advisor rated this low. Very friendly place. Opens late for a sleepy town/village. The steak with mushroom dish and house salad dressing were good (not the balsamic). Had the lasagna n spaghetti as well. Pretty Italian to me. Only neg thing was that service was a bit slow.

Kenne das Castello schon ewig und es ist über all die Jahre das Restaurant, in das ich immer wieder gerne gehe, weil ich hier noch nie vom Essen enttäuscht war. Es ist einfach immer sehr gut. I know the restaurant for so many years. And it is that place where i always come back to. I was never disapointed. It is always very good. View menu

The meal started out nice, baked pecorino with tomatoes and olives as a starter. We ordered pizza, it never came. About an hour and a half later, the server came by and realized we were never given our food. In total, we waited 2 hours and 15 minutes for our pizza after we finished our starters. Other tables came and went while we waited. In that time, we were not even checked on by our service. The pizza was good but we had a very poor experience and have to rate as such.

Beautiful interior and very romantic until a grumpy elderly waiter/boss/owner who couldn't be asked to smile points you to a table ! don't get me wrong he was friendly to the locals or to people he knew and they received good service . Very young staff that worked hard but found it difficult to smile too ..... I'm not surprised to be honest if they are supervised by this grumpy man . food was moderate, nothing to write home about .After 7 attempts to order a drink we asked for the bill ......

"I read some reviews and heard from friends that this was thé place to eat in Cochem am Mosel, so we were very excited to find the restaurant near empty on our arrival as we had expected a wait. There was nobody to greet us as we walked in so after waiting politely waiting at the entrance for a bit we decided to seat ourselves awaiting the the host, waiter/waitress to come and greet us.It took another 5 minutes for the waitress to show up. As soon as she showed up she kindly requested us to move from the cozy booth-like spacious table to a smaller wooden table. Since the entire restaurant was empty, with the exception of one gentleman and it was about an hour before closing we did not see her point to keep the large table for non-guests so we kindly declined. The frauleins entire attitude changed and we could hear her screaming and yelling in the kitchen to the chef. She then proceeded to vent her grief to the other patron in German. One might imagine her surprise when I kindly informed her that I was able to understand her conversations ( I am Dutch so I understand the language ) and did not appreciate her treating us this way. Being used to American customer service I do lower my standards somewhat but to be told smack about a semi-professional in a small town restaurant in the middle of nowhere is not something I accept. We were looking forward to taste the local food but were quite frankly concerned that this would come with some non-sanitary condiments."
