"We wanted to visit the central market whilst in Bordeaux and managed to do so on a Thursday morning around 0930. We were surprised that many of the stalls were closed so stopped for an excellent coffee, for €1!, and to regroup, at this tiny bistro in the centre of the market. We noticed that they had a few dining tables in a small dining area to the side and thought about coming back later. Sure enough, three hours later, more stalls open, some busy bars serving beer, wine, food, cheese etc. and Poulette offering Moules, in a variety of styles, with fries, for €10. We both plumped for the curry sauce and a side salad with a really interesting soy dressing. The waiter, and I think owner, was so pleasant, so helpful and recommended an excellent house white for €13. The mussels were superbly cooked with a very subtle curry flavour. More than enough for two. We finished with a cheese plate, a couple of glasses of a great red each and a couple of espressos each. A really relaxed eating experience, quite fun in the market and over the two hours we were there we were joined by market workers, fellow stall holders and local residents making for a great buzz. The whole thing was €65 which was amazing value. Really, really worth a visit, both for the food and the overall experience."

Starting at 9.50€ for the traditional mussels "à la marinière" it's a good valued option for lunch in the market area. The portions are generous and the two kinds of sauces tried were super tasty! A nice Tariquert wine 3€

Back in France for the first time in a couple of years and we got the perfect French lunch straightaway: great bottle of red Bordeaux, steak, moules and the best frites ever! Lovely service and everything in the middle of a nice market hall. Merci, Bistro Poulette !!

I love Moules and Frites - whenever I visit anywhere near the Cost in France, they are top on my "must eat" list. This bistro was a real find, located in the old market. The Moules were excellent, I had the Moules au Curry and the sauce was delicious - great value, no frills, just what I wanted

I'm a big fan of places that know what they do and excel at it! Here, you can basically have mussels or steak! My wife had the moules marinere and I had the steak - and excellent they were! We only thought we'd grab a quick lunch on our visit to the market too! Was a great pleasure to find this place, add in a couple of glasses of very good wine and I can't recommend this place enough!

This was the best meal we had all weekend in Arcachon and Bordeaux. Stumbled across Poulette whilst walking around the Marche de Capucins. Sat at the bar and got a great view of the cooking action (and the hot guys that run the place)!. Best moules I've ever tasted, and I've had a lot. Stayed far too long and had far too much vin blanc. Super good value. Can't recommend this place enough.

Much like our last review (if you like cheese). this is a restaurant that specialises in one thing only, and does it to perfection. 5 types of moules (mine was tarragon and his was lemony) cracking good frites, excellent wine, and great French stick. It's one of the most joyful food markets we've been to on our travels, it's a wait for a table and a squash once you get one but my god. the moules were plump and fresh and we gobbled them up as we hunkered over our steaming bowls. Excellent.

Our party of 5 was hungry after wandering through the Marché des Capucins, and 3 of us wanted Moules Frites. We asked one of the fish vendors where we should eat, and he pointed us to Poulette---and we couldn't have asked for a better lunch. While 2 of us spoke French, our waitress was extremely helpful and patient for us all. A lovely ample cheese plate was shared by 2, while 3 of us feasted on fabulous Moules Frites...and all 5 of us enjoyed wine. All was perfection, and the cost was so reasonable I had to do a double-take (50,40 Eur). This is absolutely a "don't miss" in my book.

Illel Šimon We have nearly two hours of fire. After 15 minutes from the fire yard, we have reached a small restaurant in this market. There are many people in such places. We find a small table quickly. We have a small stock of three cereals and two cup wines. Every single munition is fresh. They have some over-grid suppliers. The sympathetics of the helm in the larger market are hailed. This is a vibrant! Even in an environment where we are flogging and incilling, the organizer has always maintained a cholera and provided us with the best service. I really pay tribute to their professional attitudes. If you wish to test the daily lives of the local people, you will have some attempt to do h...

We were looking for great moules and frites and found them! As recommended by many on Trip Advisor, Bistro Poulette in the Marche de Capucins is outstanding! It is in the big, noisy market on one of the end of the building. The moules were great, service fast, you can watch them preparing the moules, the owner speaks very good English, and atmosphere is amazing. While we were there a wedding party came in and were enjoying themselves! They recommended Moules Poulette (mussels with shallots, cream, lemon, parsley and fish stock). They used crème fraisch--and were generous with it. This was served, of course, with a baguette for sopping up all of the great liquid in which the moules were cooked...
