"We hadn't booked and just turned up and we're asked to wait 15mins for our table , so sat in the bar we happily sat on the bar with a drink. We were offered a roast choice of beef pork or chicken or a combination of all three which we opted for also choice of one or two Yorkshire puddings (there were other options). When the food arrived we realised why we were asked to wait it was like it was cooked to order not kept warm crispy roast potatoes and yorkies clean plates all round! Desserts equally excellent.. vanilla and raspberry cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding delicious!"

Friendly welcoming people and good beer. Came in here after being treated with indifference at the Crown Hotel.

Excellent pub food, good variety on the menu including vegetarian options, very reasonable prices. Beer choices and service outstanding. Definitely becoming our new favourite local!

What a lovely pub, not spoilt by modern trends great real ales unfortunately the kitchen was closed due to staffing issues not for the want of trying of the committed landlord and wonderful staff I met running it, love to come back with family

A quaint, traditional pub, with cosey bar areas and a restaurant Hayley the chief cooks fabulous food all highly recommended although the curry and the recently added Baileys cheesecake are favourites of mine. Simply delicious. John and team have great beers. Well worth a visit

This pub is only selling drinks at present but they keep a very good pint (as my hubby would say) We had a lovely evening in there talking to two men who actually come from the area my husband was born in. Just a pity the landlord and his wife are not as friendly towards visitors as they are with the locals. View menu

Booked for an overnight stop for a weekend in the area. We had room 8 which was very nice. We would definately stay here again when in the area. The Inn is very popular with the locals and dog friendly. Not surprised it is popular as the real ales were all in prefect condition and it is a grat place for a drink. Looking forward to a revisit

This is our 2nd time we have eaten here and still as good as the 1st time. I highly recommend the steak pie it's got to be the best steak pie I've had (absolutely packed with tend melt in your mouth steak) and the home made pastry is amazing. As for the Timothy Taylors Boltmaker beer it's the best pint of Tim Taylors I've had for a long time, well kept and just at the correct temperature. John and his team are so friendly helpful and a credit to the pub. Can't wait to visit again very soon.
