"Style over substance perhaps.... I had the potato hash with mushrooms, which was mostly onion skins and some very strong fresh herbs. I went away hungry, but I am greedy, although for £30 for breakfast and coffee for two, I would expect not to need lunch. I needed not only lunch but second breakfast. And I'm not even a hobbit. The spirit of entrepreneurialism is alive and strong in Cornwall. But sadly, this was just not very good. Sorry to be harsh, Mr Blower. I understand the passion and the vision but sometimes, bigger is better. I'll be back for the coffee and DeBaras buns at Origin. But sadly, no second visit to Blower's Place. Especially when there is such tough competition in Porthleven."

Amazing food. The flavour from cooking over open fire is unlike anything else I’ve tasted. Would recommend ordering a few plates to share with everyone at the table!

We ate at Blower's Place twice during our stay in Cornwall and everything we ate was delicious. Actually, the smoked potatoes with aioli were beyond delicious! So good to see a such a passion team creating tasty/interesting dishes with such attention to detail especially during such difficult times. If it wasn't 7 hours away, we'd be regulars.

The food here is exceptional and thoughtfully prepared, using locally sourced ingredients and cooked over an open fire. You can either grab it as takeaway or enjoy your meal indoors or outdoors at Origin Coffee Roasters, which also offers excellent coffee, craft beers, and wines, along with comfortable indoor seating. There's ample parking available outside, making it a convenient stop when you're on your way to Porthleven or Helston. View menu

Love, love, love the food at Blower's Place. We had a birthday feast for 24 which was easy to arrange and had some absolutely knock out food. All the dishes were superb but special mention for the ember baked carrots, the smoked potatoes with Romesco, the Pichana Steak with Roscoff onions and the wonderful desserts. Really great place for vegetarians. They also do a cracking toasted cheese sandwich with Kimchi for brunch. A new favourite place to eat.

We visited the other night and were lucky enough to find a spot inside (though I recommend making a reservation if you want to ensure seating indoors). We had an amazing time! The food was incredibly delicious, featuring a lovely seasonal menu with an abundance of plums, and everything tasted exceptionally fresh. There are also some great vegetarian and vegan options available. The location is perfect, as it’s currently situated in the Origin roastery, which offers fantastic natural wines and specialty coffee. Thank you!!

"We were staying in Porthleven, so booked Kota in advance, as we were aware of this interesting restaurant from previous holidays in Porthleven. We had the six-course dinner menu with the wine pairing, for which my food allergy was well catered for as most dishes were the same as my partner’s. The initial three “snacks” were a delight, as the flavours and textures made them delicious. The second course of BBQ leeks and mussels were an amazing combination of flavour and texture. The third course of beet curds, molasses, and chia seeds was a delightful combination, and I say this as someone who doesn’t really like beetroot. It made the beetroot the sweetest I have ever tasted without overpowering its flavour. The fourth course of brown crab sauce with the seabass was delicious. The fifth course of pork belly with accompaniments was superb. For dessert we had “Milk and Honey”, a white chocolate mousse, Porthleven honey, caramelised milk powder, and soda bread ice cream, which was a wonderful blend of flavours and textures. The wine pairings were very well matched to the dishes. I also appreciated the nicely laundered large linen napkins that we had. The restaurant had a nice ambience, with interesting subtle music which we enjoyed. Our waitresses were very friendly and informative, carefully explaining the dishes and the wines to us upon arrival. The service was excellent. We had a very enjoyable experience, and after this first visit will go back again when next in Porthleven."
