The hotel was very clean and tastefully decorated. The staff were very welcoming and professional. Will definitely be going back.

I would recommend this restaurant. The food was wholesome and filling. The service was good. A great, no fuss restaurant. I would return if we were stopping a few nights. The haggis was amazing

From the scallops starter to the seared salmon main over seafood linguine…. I truly enjoyed my meal. My friends also had very high praise for the venison curry and the halibut mains. I hope to be back. Well done chef! View menu

Had a bar supper which was plentiful. However ordered a langoustine starter which was three or four langoustine split in half. Would have been better and easier and clearer to eat if served whole. Also had breaded scampi but the scampi had not been cleaned sloppy!

We ate here as a group of 6. and enjoyed the range of dishes on menu. Was tempted by the Surf n Turf but we mostly settled on seafood dishes, and Haggis. a very Scottish pub style, which my foreign guests commented on, and liked. There were pretty Celtic knot art wall hangings, and gentle Scottish music playing in the background.

We had a very comfortable room with a jacuzzi bath. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was fine with a large menu. Breakfast was unremarkable but fine. We had difficulty through the night with doors rattling explicably and when mentioned in the morning this was quickly pleasantly and efficiently dealt with and a refund given. I would happily return. Food was excellent and I would absolutely recommend it for eating out . Starters were great Haggis , Stornaway Black Pudding and Mash … WONDERFUL Main was incredible MonkFish Tails and the portions were HUGE and delicious … which is why I couldn’t have dessert ! Service was a bit slower than I would have liked , atmosphere was none existent trying to get another drink didn’t happen and had to ask for the bill several times BUT putting all that aside (and that can be easily rectified) it was fantastic !

This hotel looks bright and fresh from the outside. Inside it is dingy and dated. We had booked a table for dinner and signage indicated we should wait to be seated. There was nobody on reception and on walking to the bar we were not approached despite there being three staff present. This was at 18.45 and the place wasn’t busy. Eventually we attracted some attention and were seated. Our dining area was clad in 1980s style pine cladding and dark drapes. There is also an musty odour within the hotel on entry. The entire place needs a major refurb. Sadly, it’s resting on it’s laurels and the good will of locals. The service was fairly good but the food average. Pricing is similar to the Poloch...

Very disappointed After giving our order for drinks on arrival We were then asked for our order We Asked if they done coleslaw to have with the scampi Was told yes Gave our order, then we were told sorry I forgot to let you know none left We then got the Stornoway black pudding and haggis stack which if served hot would have been lovely shame) Then I had the cajun chicken ceasar salad, which left alot to be desired never had this before cold the chicken in other establishments serve the chicken bacon hot so that disappointed too! 3rd time lucky was the sticky toffee pudding and icecream Unfortunately this also went back as the sponge and sauce was served cold apparently a new employee) To ma...
