"I came around 7.30 p.m. on a Tuesday and hadn't made a reservation. I had to wait around 20 min before a table was cleared, that was okay. Was told one would be available at 20 p.m. I meanwhile stood in the bar and waited for my table to get ready, where I wanted to order something to drink while I waited, I had to wait 10 min before I could order something to drink. It wasn't a busy night if you ask me. I ordered the smothered chicken with extra bacon and fries, the only thing good about that dish was the chicken itself, rest of the burger didn't really taste of anything and the fries were nice golden, but undercooked inside, not very pleasant to eat potato powder fries that isn't done. Nobody had the time to come by my table to ask if everything was fine, so left the plain coleslaw and most of the fries and a piece of pure fat bacon. Not a place I would choose again. The pint was really good and together with the chicken earning Brewers Fayre 2 stars."

Went for mother's day lunch yesterday and had a lovely time. Staff were very attentive although they were all so busy as the restaurant was full. The carvery was delicious. Great selection of meats and all the sides you could ask for. Will definitely be back.

I was worried about eating here after reading the reviews here, as I stayed at the hotel next door. I was great by a very friendly guy at the door, ordered food and drinks from the bar, staff very friendly. food arrived and it was really good and we enjoyed it very much

The young male manager (Irish? Accent) was absolutely fantastic. He just had a terrible person who gave him nothing but abuse because the restaurant is fully booked and this customer had not booked a table. He remained quiet and professional all the time. Food took 25 minutes to come, but what can you expect when it is fully booked.

Have been staying at the hotel next door, for the last 2 days, and have been for the breakfasts. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially Adam. Excellent customer service. The manager Don is very welcoming and helpful. Went out of his way to help us. Could not fault the breakfasts everything was layed out to perfection and very delicious , hot and plentiful. Well done team.

Traditional family-friendly pub with delicious food and soft game and crafts activities for children. We visited the pub that is on a family trip on Thursday afternoon. We ordered broken chicken, cheeseburger, spaghetti and some desserts. Everything was nicely prepared and everyone was very happy with his own choice of meal. You get a lot of money. Also our toddler was well entertained, which is a big bonus during a long trip!

I’m not normally a complainer, I’ve been coming up to Scotland for years and have been to this brewers Fayre in the past and no problems. Today, however, we were told we had to go and order at the bar, which would have been okay until a Scottish family received table service, we are an English family. Not only that, but we were just taken to our table, not offered any drinks or actually even told to order at the bar we had to ask a waitress who seem less impressed that we did not know. Food however was nice and could not fault it. The biggest tip we could give is treat everyone the same

This is a great place to eat when you enjoy proper pub grub. We stayed at the Premier Inn next floor and used the food offer for about £23. That was for 'as much as you eat 'breakfast and a 2 course dinner. Breakfast was really great, all hot and well cooked and all dishes were constantly charged. And Donald M. made a crisp breakfast on Monday. He was a great guy and a loan to Brewers Fayre. In fact, all our employees were great. The evening meal was also delicious and large portions. We were 3 nights so had a variety of dishes between us and enjoyed everything. The pub was packed on Friday night, but the staff was incredible, serving and clearing fast. They work very hard and were really fr...

Well, shocked on arrival, however 5 star service by the time I left. On arrival, met by manager, polite and courteous and welcoming, shown to my table and then informed. Our menu tonight we have, No Fish, No beef burgers and No chicken….. ok that leaves what exactly left to eat! I eventually ordered ribs, which turned out to be delicious, starter of potato skins, they were top notch and chocolate brownie to finish. All you can drink Coca Cola. I was booked in for breakfast, however breakfast doesn’t start till 6:30am, I had to leave before this time! On asking the manager, she was able to speak to the chef, who was going to make me a pack lunch to pick up early morning before my departure. W...
