"On the other hand, my three-year-old son's meal was absolutely inedible. I ordered him pasta with corn on the cob, and he, being a good eater, couldn't even finish it. It looked like it had been sitting around too long and tasted more like tomato soup with an overwhelming amount of garlic and herbs mixed in. It was supposed to come with two mini corns, but we only received one, and that one looked like it had been cooked the day before! I sent the dish back immediately, which is why there's no photo. The young gentleman was apologetic and asked if he could get something else, but I just requested a bowl of chips instead. There was no further apology or offer of a refund, which was unacceptable! The chips cost £4.99 for a tiny bowl! My nephew opted for the fish and chips (photo below), which wasn't much better, and he also left the corn untouched. The kids' meals came with dessert, which turned out to be the smallest ice cream I've ever seen."

I had a fantastic dining experience here! The service was excellent, contributing to a delightful lunch. The price per person ranged between £20 and £30, which I found to be quite reasonable considering the quality. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 I highly recommend trying the pudding and the Smothered No Chicken – both were absolutely delicious!

I visited for breakfast after an overnight stay at the nearby Premier Inn. They've switched to a buffet breakfast on weekends, and I don't think it worked particularly well. While there were the typical food options, we must have arrived at an unfortunate time; some items were nearly gone, and the food was lukewarm. I wasn't impressed. Service: Dine-in, Meal type: Breakfast.

Meal Type: Lunch Price per Person: £10–20 Food Rating: 3/5 Service Rating: 3/5 Atmosphere Rating: 3/5 Recommended Dish: Gammon Egg and Chips I recently dined at this restaurant for lunch, and here’s my take on the experience. The food was decent, earning a solid 3 out of 5 stars. I sampled the Gammon Egg and Chips, which I would recommend for its satisfying flavors. However, the service also scored a 3; it was neither outstanding nor terrible, just adequate for a casual lunch. The atmosphere felt average as well, contributing to an overall experience that was pleasant but not particularly memorable. Considering the reasonable price range of £10 to £20 per person, it's a good spo...

"This restaurant has changed ownership and is now known as Billa's. We booked a table here on Saturday evening, when we arrived the outside seating area had been overbooked so we were sat inside the restaurant this is currently not allowed under Wales' guidlelines, and to be honest I wish we had just walked out at that point, there ended up being 15 people seated inside. I genuinely felt so sorry for the 3 staff working there that evening, there was no manager in sight to help them serve customers both inside and outside, and they were running around like headless chickens receiving multiple complaints from every table inside about slow service, order mix ups etc they clearly had no table plan for inside (since we were seated last minute) and as a result the wrong food was given to the wrong tables. One couple got up and left before their food was served. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks, which arrived after our starters. Again, I want to stress that I do not blame the three staff at all, the blame lies fully with the non existent management who overbooked the restaurant and left them to deal with the mess. My partner ordered a calzone, and when this was served it was completely raw on the inside, he sent it back and asked for carbonara instead as this was quicker to cook. The food overall did not live up to the standards of the previous owner. Finally, when it came to paying the bill, the calzone was still on it, when the staff had said they would remove it for us. My partner went to the bar so this could be corrected, and the owner spoke to the staff member who was re doing the bill, he told her to charge us for the carbonara that was a replacement for the raw calzone some people may disagree, but I believe that if you are served RAW food at a restaurant or take away etc, then that meal should be replaced free of charge! In total we wasted £59 on a subpar meal. I am thoroughly disappointed in Billa's, it has clearly gone down hill since the change of ownership, and I shall not be eating here again and will tell others to steer clear. It's such a shame as Aberdare itself has so few restaurants open."
