"quiet lunch. came today for partner birthday dinner with our 2 month old. gluten-free menu very limited, but my partner had the risotto and it tasted amazing, I had the black booze and it was really delicious and seasoned perfect. cocktails on point as usual and our waitress was beautiful and friendly. if I had to give a critique, the courts might have looked a bit pretty, but I couldn't owe a taste. will definitely be back for eating and drinking!"

Dirty table. Mediocre service, took ages for lunch. Stale bread, ok soup. Two steaks were overcooked, one was Ok. For £60 I expected a lot more.

Afternoon tea at browns was exquisite!!! We popped along to celebrate my mums birthday and what a joy it was! It’s absolutely beautiful inside and all of the staff are wonderfully polite! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced too! Lovely idea if you like afternoon tea and want to celebrate someone special!

beautiful old bank interior, attentive personal and tasty eating. I had the pork bell with apple caramel, other half had (unknowing) the avocado, kale and mango salat with a massive piece of perfectly boiled salmon. delicious food, though not a great choice of beer. the expensive wee, but that is expected in such a way.

Came here for an evening meal. The building is beautiful and feels classy although the furniture was a little worn in some areas. Toilets were not great either. Food was delicious and very well priced, and the staff very friendly and attentive. Perfect for a group gathering or a romantic meal. 4/5 stars for the food and service from the staff.

What a gorgeous day we had at Browns. I booked the five of us afternoon tea, as I am gluten free they prepared a separate selection of sandwiches deserts. Lovely strong strong tea and either a g t or glass of Moët. We had a beautiful cocktail too, perfectly made and delicious. The staff we so kind and attentive. Massive love to the team for making our visit so special! We will be back very soon.

amazing experience for a nice dinner after my conclusion. the server was so patient and the understanding of our needs and allergies. before 8.30 clock there was a live piano music to accompany the evening mood. good eating though the fish option was limited the night we went. they allowed us to eat our food to custom, which was very satisfying. overall it was a great experience and we will not hesitate to come back!

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
