"This was a disaster from start to finish , the service provided was atrocious and the misleading way your afternoon Tea package was presented was very poor. We waited 45mins and had to approach the waitress to be served , we were served the wrong drinks and told by the waitress that the Champagne was part of the afternoon Tea package , the sandwiches were stale and had obviously been standing for hours. Only when we went to pay the bill did we find the Champagne was not included , this was very embarrassing to say the least. I cannot find the words to express our anger at your shocking service , not least to say we will not be back and thanks for ruining my birthday . Regards Anthony Janice Booth"

The Afternoon tea was ideal as the scones and cakes were light and not too filling. The service was excellent.

The food and tea were lovely. Great location to walk to. My favorite was the Madagascan vanilla and William pear choux!

We came here for afternoon tea for a friends birthday after a recommendation. We were not disappointed! The staff were so attentive but in a kind of discreet way, not overpowering or in your face, and they were all amazing! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect! Highly recommend!

Wonderful service by one of the most personable waiters I've met in a long time. Particular mention goes to the patisserie chef and the sandwich maker...both were fabulous. My only criticism, and this is a small niggle, is that the Japanese inspired metal teapots are way too heavy and awkward to handle.

my friend and I enjoyed the afternoon tea in the library of edwardian raddison on Friday, December 2019. the atmosphere and the attentive staff were in the second half. the sandwich fillings of bratbeef, huhn and courgette and pesto were very delicious. the terrace pie selection was exquisite and plentiful, our favorite is the Black Forest gateau when we finished our waitress, we brought a decorated teller with happy birthday and another 2 small cakes for my friend. she was thrilled by this beautiful gesture we will return to the future and recommend it to anyone who celebrates a special day/night or only for the experience of afternoon tea in one of the most famous buildings in some places.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
