"Brunels Buttery, right on the dockside, is a Bristol institution. It should be Grade One listed as one of the best places to eat in Bristol. This doesn 't pretend to be a posh eatery it 's just absolute top quality breakfast, morning and lunchtime snacks and coffee. Of course it 's famed for their bacon butties in all shapes, sizes and varieties. Freshly cooked to order and eaten in the open (but under cover and shaded in this hot weather). It 's fun to sit and eat and watch the harbour activities pass by. And this morning, we had a steam trains taking people on short trips along the harbour as well. If you are in Bristol, this is a MUST DO."

The breakfast and children's meals are excellent, with friendly staff and great value for money. The scenery is breathtaking, and the train add to the charm of the place.

Brilliant cafe with decent freshly cooked food. A real service with a smile place where the staff seem happy that you dropped by. Well cleaned and maintained for this type of place.

Coffee ok sausage roll over microwaved and greasy, tomato sauce very translucent and tasteless. Been there several years ago and it was very good. Shame as there is several nice places close by.

A legendary place to eat in Bristol , the bacon sandwiches are very nice but the irony is they don’t use butter ! It’s margarine and I hate it! ….it simply has to be a good quality salted butter for all sandwiches. View menu

The location of this restaurant is fantastic, however, the coffee was the worst I have ever paid £2.50 for. They should either serve high-quality coffee or not charge Americano prices for an instant coffee stirred into hot water.

Some searches say open on Monday, not always the case. Went back twice during the week for breakfast rolls as this is a favourite place to sit and watch the world go by. Contents of rolls good but sorry to say the quality of the roll sadly lacking, on both occasions tasted cheap.

Had read about Brunels Buttery on here prior to my trip so wanted to visit. Wasn't dissapointed. Had the sausage, egg and bacon sandwich and shared some cheesy chips and they were lovely. Definitely recommend a visit, especially on a sunny day when you can sit watching the boats go by on the harbour. View menu

Me and a friend are here at the moment and we paid £237 each with breakfast and that was with flights we have only been here 4 nights but we are quite happy here the only thing we can gripe about is the bathroom door shouldn’t be see through and the weather which you can’t change so if you want 5 star service pay an extra lot of money somewhere else

I went up to the counter to order a sandwich, but my table already had some sandwiches on the way. When our number was called, I was at the front of the line ready to order. However, the server informed me that I had to go to the back of the line because I couldn't collect an order. I wasn't even collecting the order, someone else from our table was. I was very disappointed with this service, as I found it to be very rude.

"Visited here in Sept 23 for an executive dinner that we were hosting for various senior business leaders. We booked out the whole venue, which was the perfect size and atmosphere for the intimate and exclusive feel that we wanted, plus a convenient location. The TV that shows into the kitchen was fascinating, and the record player was put to use towards the end of the evening! Caroline from the venue helped us organise the event in advance and was great to deal with. We were fortunate with the weather so were able to enjoy a welcome drinks reception out the front of the venue, and have the door open all evening to let the balmy night in. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was simply OUTSTANDING so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, particularly the beef steak course! It was so tasty that I even enjoyed the fish dish (not usual for me! . Service on the night was exemplary, the courses were brought out at just the right intervals so you weren't waiting ages but also not being rushed. The chef came out to greet us after the final course, which was a lovely touch and meant we could thank him. Overall, we had really great feedback from our guests, everyone loved it thank you for making our event such a success! We would definitely book again, and I know a few of our guests have already recommended it to their own companies for executive dinners! Would not hesitate to recommend."
