"After hearing great things about Sophie_B's recommendation, I finally decided to try the restaurant. What a delightful spot for lunch! The menu is very vegan-friendly and the owner, Hamilton, is lovely. We tried the Feijoada for £9.90, a traditional Brazilian black bean dish with vegan smoked sausage, rice, and Farofa (a cassava-based topping). It was absolutely delicious, and the family recipe really shone through. The Caldo de Feijao for £5.20 was a creamy bean soup with vegan sausages and oregano olive oil croutons. The beans were sourced from Hamilton's hometown in Brazil and they were rich and satisfying. We also enjoyed the Vegan Hot Dog Brazilian-style for £5.30, with tasty homemade mayo and mustard. The Vegan Cheesy Chips for £3.90 were a guilty pleasure, with runny cheese that melted in all the right ways. Overall, a fantastic dining experience and I will definitely be back."

friendly and welcome by owners and employees. eating was really good and very cheap. they were also plentiful gluten-free options, and the variety of vegan cakes was impressive, and the one I had chosen was delicious.

If you're looking to escape the chilly sea breeze and be greeted warmly by the staff and owners, this is the place for you. I enjoyed a full vegan breakfast with a soy latte and a slice of cake, while my mother tried the full English breakfast with a soy latte (the best she's ever had) and a slice of cake. This restaurant is a hidden gem, offering a variety of vegan options that are definitely worth trying. It's great value for money and worth a visit.

I love this small cafe, excellent customer service, very friendly people and there is such a beautiful environment in the café. Also all the other people who go are all friendly, it's just such a nice café in and I'm happy to support this café. I ordered a vegan breakfast with a latte with oat milk, and it was absolutely delicious, I recommend this place, you will not leave disappointed. There is so much passion in the café to make sure if you leave you want to come back.

very cozy caffe with a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. we ordered the vegan cheeseburger and hotdog and a vegan cheese, petersilie and sun-dried tomato sandwich for our young son. the cheeseburger and hotdog tasted great and both had good texture and were well seasoned. the sandwich was also good and the cheese used was really nice. we also ordered a takeaway america and a delicious slice of biscoff cake and two refreshing juices that were acerola and orange and pineapple and mint. muito obrigado!

Cacau has really stepped up their game on vegan food! There's so much choice now from delicious artisanal drinks and fresh exotic juices, to cakes, ice cream, paninis and main meals! Their biscoff cake is amazing! And I also love the beans soup, and their vegan version of the traditional feijoada. Staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is so relaxing, a pure Brazilian gem in the North East. I'd give it a 5* but the app won't let me as the cafe is not 100% vegan. We were in Middlesbrough on business and decided to have lunch. We found this place, near the seaside, on Happy Cow.com. They had a couple of vegan gnocchi dishes and some dishes that, the menu said could be adapted to be vegan. It was a friendly, homely place, with very nice staff. The food was very good, I had a dish with a rich, vegan mascarpone and tomato sauce and my partner had the gnocchi champignon. With huge servings we couldn't manage it all. Personal service too, the lovely chef came out to see if we were enjoying the food. Recommended hidden (to us anyway) gem.
