"After hearing great things about Sophie_B's recommendation, I finally decided to try the restaurant. What a delightful spot for lunch! The menu is very vegan-friendly and the owner, Hamilton, is lovely. We tried the Feijoada for Β£9.90, a traditional Brazilian black bean dish with vegan smoked sausage, rice, and Farofa (a cassava-based topping). It was absolutely delicious, and the family recipe really shone through. The Caldo de Feijao for Β£5.20 was a creamy bean soup with vegan sausages and oregano olive oil croutons. The beans were sourced from Hamilton's hometown in Brazil and they were rich and satisfying. We also enjoyed the Vegan Hot Dog Brazilian-style for Β£5.30, with tasty homemade mayo and mustard. The Vegan Cheesy Chips for Β£3.90 were a guilty pleasure, with runny cheese that melted in all the right ways. Overall, a fantastic dining experience and I will definitely be back."

I can always count on Cacau to provide excellent service and mouthwatering food, no matter who I dine with. My top picks from the menu are the vegan burgers, vegan full English breakfast, and biscoff cakes. The fresh juices and smoothies are also a must-try! The service is excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

If you're looking to escape the chilly sea breeze and be greeted warmly by the staff and owners, this is the place for you. I enjoyed a full vegan breakfast with a soy latte and a slice of cake, while my mother tried the full English breakfast with a soy latte (the best she's ever had) and a slice of cake. This restaurant is a hidden gem, offering a variety of vegan options that are definitely worth trying. It's great value for money and worth a visit.

very cozy caffe with a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. we ordered the vegan cheeseburger and hotdog and a vegan cheese, petersilie and sun-dried tomato sandwich for our young son. the cheeseburger and hotdog tasted great and both had good texture and were well seasoned. the sandwich was also good and the cheese used was really nice. we also ordered a takeaway america and a delicious slice of biscoff cake and two refreshing juices that were acerola and orange and pineapple and mint. muito obrigado! Cacau has really stepped up their game on vegan food! There's so much choice now from delicious artisanal drinks and fresh exotic juices, to cakes, ice cream, paninis and main meals! Their biscoff cake is amazing! And I also love the beans soup, and their vegan version of the traditional feijoada. Staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is so relaxing, a pure Brazilian gem in the North East. I'd give it a 5* but the app won't let me as the cafe is not 100% vegan. We were in Middlesbrough on business and decided to have lunch. We found this place, near the seaside, on Happy Cow.com. They had a couple of vegan gnocchi dishes and some dishes that, the menu said could be adapted to be vegan. It was a friendly, homely place, with very nice staff. The food was very good, I had a dish with a rich, vegan mascarpone and tomato sauce and my partner had the gnocchi champignon. With huge servings we couldn't manage it all. Personal service too, the lovely chef came out to see if we were enjoying the food. Recommended hidden (to us anyway) gem.

"Gluten-free fish and chips. really crispy and the fish was flocky, although dry, how long it was eaten (I will come later into this.) the chips were nice and even the curry sauce is gf, although it tastes like its mixed with ketchup. that's good if you like it super sweet. my family got regular fish and chips and enjoyed it. and for a medium it was not bad size. service was good, but not fast, and the small load is very busy, which is always a good sign. it loses half a star because my partner broken fish and parts of it were missing. while we also ordered three meal times and gf scraped, the scraped were placed on my fish and not in a separate bag, so it was hard to scrape them and share them. Finally, the other half-star is lost because, although I have called before to order, I still had to wait in the line which I am not opposed, but I think my food had to sit there for a long time while I queued, because there is no separate waiting line for call-ins and I would order it for a certain time. when I had actually collected my order, it sat there for half an hour, maybe more, and then 20 minutes to come home and eat. in the future, I will probably just come to order and wait half an hour, so I know it is not too long. all in all a beautiful fish and chips, good service, clean equipment with great equipment, and a lot of choice would recommend."
