"We had a wonderful night out at this lovely cafe last week. Food was fabulous and I enjoyed overlooking the kitchen and watching as the desserts were prepared. We chose the 3 course menu for a set price and we were not disappointed. The waiter was extremely helpful as we needed a little assistance with the French menu. On both the entree and mains the jus's were so amazingly full of flavour. I chose the caramel dessert and it was delicious. We finished with coffee and the chocolate and nut fudge was a lovely welcome surprise. Highly recommend if you have an interest in cooking and French food. I hope I return to Annecy one day, so I can revisit this cafe."

Had a very good fish with a very good wine. Nice place to go... overall good value for money. The portions could be a bit bigger though.

Annecy le vieux myriade de restaurants de qualité celui en fait partie. Excellente cuisine jamais déçue. Véranda en cas de petite fraîcheur

Great atmosphere inside and out. It gets a Michelin bib gourmand for good reason. The food is full of flavor and creative. The wine list is a little punchy, and service could be a little more timely. View menu

Tout est parfait, du début du service à la fin. Personnel professionnel de très bon conseil. La canette rôtie était un délice. Nous avons vraiment apprécié Nous étions déjà venus et nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Three of us (30 somethings) went to dinner here and the food was very good, but not great. We had to wait for so long, we didn't have time to get dessert and waited another 30 minutes for the check. We expected more - splurge and go to Clos des Sens instead.

The food is very very good, the staff is nice and easy-going, the prices are low. You can either eat inside or on the terrace; both are great. The house is an old beautiful place, with an old counter made of zinc. It is well-located, the square with the church is just amazing. Go there! View menu

This place deserve a 5 stars rating definitely. Food is excellent! I had pea soup and fish, it's the best pea soup I've ever had! my husband had veal, it's so soft and the sauce is a great match with the meat. The Savoie wine they recommended is also very good in value. The waitress served us speaks perfect English!

We turned up without a reservation having just arrived in Annecy-le-vieux and the staff were very accommodating. A nice drink of pastis before being shown to our table. The menu or rather the daily specials is brought to your table on a big blackboard. The maitre' d was so proficient and attentive, food excellent.....A wonderful meal in Annecy-definitely recommend this trendy location

"We had a weird feeling about this restaurant when we were given 2 menu books WITHOUT any price at first. Turned out that their gastronomic pricing didn't match their brasserie standard at all. My friend asked a couple of questions about some dishes, the waiter...was very puzzled and passive, said a couple of times that he didn't know. After that, we were served some kind of MUSHY OLD bread before the meal. If this was a sign of welcoming from the owner, then he failed right there. In our main courses, apart from the meat and fish ingredients, each of us got half of a small potato, 1 small stick of leek, 1 lonely cauliflower, some smashed petit pois with the size of a small coffee capsule, and 1 line of smashed carrot. Looks like the quantity one would place on a plate of a gastronomic restaurant with 8 courses, except that this is NOT a gastronomic restaurant, from the plastic menu, the furniture, the old bread, the cutleries, the different menu pricing and the service which failed to describe the dishes. The worst part, was when the waiter came and asked us if everything went well, I gave him the feedback that the food was good but the veggie was way too little. He first proposed us to eat more dessert, then when I said no, he got so upset and defensive that he even pointed at the kitchen telling me that I should go to see the chef and discuss with him myself. Why bother asking your client how their meal was if you can't receive a candid feedback? Being a frequent traveller, coming from the hospitality industry, I have to say this place is to AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Unless you have too much money and eating next to a canval is way more important than being treated in a disrespectful manner, and leaving the restaurant with a happy stomach."
