If you are looking for a takeaway treat look no further. The cafe produces fantastic cooked to order fish and chips.

Found by chance, this road restaurant has a good value for money. The service is fast. The dishes are homemade. The English waitresses are very smiling and their accent gives a charm to service.

When we find nothing on the road, they have the merit of being open, which I greet. As I regret the old restaurants, the old French cuisine, but now we must forget... damage. There's still fast food View menu

Good wholesome fish and chips, as well as assorted other somewhat British delicacies. The food was good and relatively inexpensive. The service was friendly and efficient. An altogether pleasant place to be. We will most certainly be back.

Driving thru and found this place with a sign displaying fish and chips.The area out the front has no views so we asked for take away which they kindly provided and went down to the lovely Vienne river.The fish pieces were fine except for one that was discoloured? The chips were terrible. Looked frozen and old. I've seen the other reviews but I wasn't impressed.

I used to quite like this place before, but now instead of trying to compete with French menus locally they are doing what we Brits do best, freshly cooked fish and chips, and other delights, bacon baps, pies and so on, they are lovely, and...very large portions, very good value for money. I agree it is a bit noisy, but better a good atmosphere than sitting in silence, lovely service, long may it last. View menu

Well living in France. You need to sometimes go out for an English. And this is the best. I don't offer this praise lightly. Simply arrive to the warmth of the best of British. Sit and relax like your at home. Because that just what...it feels like. Then the dining. You need to come down to prove me wrong, but it can't be beaten on price or quality anywhere france or U.K. Nothing is too much trouble. The chips are a mountain. The fish is contained perfectly in a shroud of batter while being beautifully fresh and white inside. Onion rings. To die for. (A personal favorite). And a throw back to my youth. Donna kebabs. These are a thing of wonder and awe, simply the best of everything we loved...

We heard about Cafe Clemence from other Brits living in the area.We decided to try their fish & Chips for ourselves,as everyone seemed to be raving about them.The cafe restaurant has a warm and friendly atmosphere.Everything is cooked to order,Lynne runs the waiting and service side while her partner Dean is the Chef.My wife had the Haddock and I the Cod we have never tasted better fish & Chips in our lives.The beer batter was fantastic and the mushy peas where the icing on the cake. Pulled in at the Cafe Clemence Saturday lunchtime after finishing work and was on my way home. I had previously eaten there, again whist passing through, so knew that the new owners provided a decent, inexpensive meal. The fish and chip side of the business has only been going for a month and has proved to be popular with the locals. It is now very popular with me after an excellent plate of fish (very large piece), chips and proper mushy peas.
