"Well, we all adored the Old Cafe. But read this:Remember this is not a Michelin rated restaurant, rather a great lunch place to enjoy with friends. Cafe de la Gare is located between Goult/Lumières and the road to Bonnieux, the turning from the D 900 circle, go right just after the bike path. In fact it is the perfect place to stop on the wonderful Cavaillon to Apt bike route. Please if you are sweaty, chose an appropriate table. You can stop on the terrace out front for a citron pressé, a cold beer, or just some bottled water.I have spent seventeen years here, in Goult, and years ago (it seems) this location was a jammed insiders secret, including local workmen having their hearty meal of the day. Then the lovely couple just wore out and regrettably sold out. Tears were shed. Everything changed: all the lovely old Provençal touches, the vine laden tonnelle, the wall murals disappeared (hearts fell) prices went up on an ambitious kitchen that missed the mark, at least to their loyal customers who abandoned all hope. Since then the restaurant changed either ownership or management or chefs, several times but never good or better. Pierre Cardin got hold of it and did a major renovation to all the adjacent buildings. We still can't tell what for: it's just what he does in our little Luberon. So as of late last summer, the Cafe raised the bar and the rumors started that it was now getting its footing. Today I finally tried the new kitchen and it was a total success. There is a "salad bar" called a buffet which can be ordered as a single meal for about 12€ and it could easily be enough. For 20€ I had the plat du jour and buffet, choosing the fresh trout filet on a coulis of carrots: excellent. My friend had a pork dish with mashed potatoes, she loved it. No opinion on Dessert but a selection of boutique ice creams are available. The liter bottle of fizzy water is vastly overpriced even in this expensive area of Provence: skip it and just enjoy the cool table water. The restaurant is only open for lunch so call ahead to check hours. Right now you could probably walk in but I hope that soon you will need reservations. They are ready for a full house and the staff speaks English.Yes, The old Cafe de la Gare is gone, but the new is not too modern and the back terrace is spacious and shady and the old bar in front is still ancient and beautiful. The WC facilities are excellent (One new feature that was needed, to be honest). I highly recommend this haven of peace with plenty of parking and convenient access."

super day dishes; a more real cassoulet than in castelnaudary. fast, efficient and nice service. and all for a "as appetizing" price as the sum. Recommended reservation.

It's been several years since I came to goodness and this coffee from the train station is my flag! Why? because this little restaurant breathes the charm of provence..Cuisine à la carte simple but effective, a terrace with a superb view, and a service of great kindness, make this coffee of the station my little summer peace haven.

"I was recently staying in Manosque with 2 other work colleagues as we were working in the area. After seeing this place on trip advisor we decided to go on our last evening. When we got to our table we were given a glass of fruit juice each while we looked at the menu. The menu didn’t have a great choice of curries however we are from South Shields in the UK were we have lots of great Indians with plenty of choice. We all ordered onion bahji starters, 2 chicken tikka masala, 1 chicken madras, rice and naan breads. We got popadoms and pickles which were nothing special, the popadoms had cardamon seeds in. When the onion bahjis arrived it was just a tray of onion rings on a bed of red cabbage and no sauce. This is totally unacceptable really. They had very little taste and it was probably one of the worst starters I’ve had in any restaurant. The naan breads arrived with the starter so just sat going cold while we waited for the main course, however one of the reasons this review has 1 star is because of the naan breads. They were very nice and seemed to be the only fresh food we had. The curries arrived and straight away one of my colleges asked to have chicken breast in the madras instead of the 2 chicken legs as he was unaware it was served with chicken legs. Within 30 seconds he had a curry with chicken breast. All 3 curries were loaded with salt and this was pretty much all that could be tasted. The madras tasted pretty much the same as the tikka masalas and the tikka masalas were just like a microwave ready meal curry with no cream, nothing at all like a tikka masala. The kingfisher beers we had were expensive considering they were small bottles and on the menu they were just described as Indian beer. All 3 of us very disappointed asked for the bill. We were given some sort of ginger shot and the bill arrived with a bowl of liquorice and some leaf cigarettes. The total was over 100 euros which we feel was expensive for the quality of food we received, like I say a cheap microwave meal would be better quality and passing off onion rings as an onion bhaji too. What I’m guessing is this place is fobbing the French people off from the area with cheap, poor tasting food because they aren’t used to Indian food or proper Indian food anyway. Like I say I’m from an area which has lots of great Indian restaurants and I’ve been to many Indians elsewhere but this is definitely the worst of the lot."
