"Rating: ****Price-performance: ***The Chocolatier and Pastry Chef Christian Klinge is running the Café and purveyor of the Court in it’s fourth generation. Klinge has a great reputation in Oldenburg. The cakes and pastries are among the most rewarding sins of the city and the caffe latte and café au lait are produced with fresh, local organic milk - extra kudos for Kinge dispensing with UHT milk.Café Klinge occupies a location on the old city wall, ideal for cyclists and pedestrians. The western porch, added during the 1980's offers plenty of light and views of the river Haaren, but is otherwise somewhat unadorned, in contrast to the traditional areas of Hofkonditorei. Unfortunately, the traditional rooms felt rather fresh when we visited on a cold afternoon in January (with strong easterly winds). The staff didn’t seem overly motivated either, but the cakes and coffee were as good as ever.Three very delicious slices of cake, a good caffe latte and Vienna mocha as well as “Ostfriesentee” cost € 21.15 in total.Cafe KlingeTheaterwall 47, 26122 Oldenburg"

Oldenburg, in northern Germany, is known for its rich history and local cuisine like Grünkohl (kale) with Pinkel sausage, often enjoyed during the autumn and winter months.
