Excellent interior, delicious food, great service! The restaurant is inside a former chapel with artwork on the ceiling and walls. It was a great experience and we will be going back if we're in the area

The coolest location for a restaurant inside an old church. The waiters were very attentive and even brought over a book explaining how it was an old boys school. Food was tasty and they even made it to suit our taste.

family party, everything excellent. premises spectacular, food, service, staff all excellent. Amongst the guests were a small number who had food allergies or intolerances, the kitchen staff catered to those people exactly as requested, nothing was too much trouble. View menu

Thrilled to be back in this amazing building. It truly is the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever dined in. The food was as always delicious there was plenty of it. The waiters were attentive very polite. I have never had a bad meal here either dining in the restaurant or as a take away. I would 100% recommend it!

The food was decent and the service was quick, but the rude behavior of the waiter was unacceptable. There was no welcome, no smile, no please, no thank you, and no warmth or friendliness. The 10% service charge was automatically added, but the waiter did not deserve a tip. It's simple - customers should be made to feel like guests.

What a wonderful evening we had in this beautiful restaurant. I’ve been a grateful guest here for 2 decades and it never disappoints. The best Indian by far in Stony with attentive service and such wonderful surroundings. I love the candles they have introduced which lend a romantic atmosphere. I hope we never lose this important asset to our town View menu

There are many Indian restaurants to choose from in Stony Stratford and the surrounding areas, however Calcutta is one of the best. The service is excellent, with a warm welcome guaranteed. Every dish was delicious, flavorful, and served hot with amazing flavors. The ambiance is also very good, set in a beautiful building. Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience.

Everything went smoothly. We were able to park right outside on a row of EV chargers. The restaurant had a unique charm both on the outside and inside, and the staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. The interior was grand, but there were also cozy tables in half booths on a higher level. The menu was extensive, and we enjoyed a couple of vegetable platters that were ample for the four of us, followed by a good selection of meals. We were there for about an hour, which was perfect for our schedule. We had a very enjoyable experience and were surprised that the total bill came to no more than Β£20 each, including drinks. Highly recommended.

"Absolutely average restaurant. Dirty bamboo table mats and super dirty windows, kinda sad to look out of them. Impatient service, who under 6 minutes 5 times came back trying to pressure me to take my order. I was confused as I thought it was a restaurant not a fast food place. Silly me who used to live in Japan though the menu is just like there, with pictures. How wrong I was...So getting my phone to have a look at their website, what kinda different that in the restaurant menu card one. When I tried to ask for reconditions, I didn't get any, she just straight away took the last what I asked. The steamed algae was very nice, but my noodle soup was a big surprise, as I have no idea what's roasted (burned) pepper and massive chunks of onions doing there? It's supposed to be sea food, but instead just some burned vegetables scared with frozen octopus, mussels and mini calamari rings poured up with chicken broth. So yeah, kinda disappointing. Drink wise I asked the waitress do they have any tonic water as it isn't listed on the menu card, she looked at me like I am a weirdo. I asked for Roku gin what is my favourite. On the receipt was counted as an extra pound because Japanese. Lol, no comment. Getting the drinks, from other restaurants you get the spirit on the rocks in the glass and front of you they pouring the mixer drink from the mini bottle. Here not, just straight away together as it comes. Oh and don't bother asking without lemon, because you are getting one either way. So Akasaka restaurant did not become my favourite one. Once and last. Easily can be forgotten. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: Β£20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"
