"I researched coffee shops in Canterbury before visiting chose Garage Coffee over all of them. Inside the coffee shop is nice- the tables, chairs, shelving, decor all suited the vibe. It was “busy” at the time of my visit- not queues, but they had a few orders on. I waited a few minutes to be served. I ordered a take away coffee- flat white, £3.20. Fine. While waiting, I read their menu. 10p for a take away cup. Odd? Just include this in the price automatically? Coffee was really nice. The barista was very good I could see he cared about making coffee. I always appreciate this."

This specialist coffee shop roast their own beans. They have a couple of tables outside and a number on the ground and first floors. The quality of our coffees were excellent and I was tempted by the beans they had for sale. View menu

Found this little cafe on the back streets whilst heading to the cathedral. Lovely friendly staff and very allergen aware which is great for me who is gluten intolerant. Highly recommend for a stop off when visiting Canterbury

Drinks are good as are snacks. But some staff just so obviously don’t want to be there and I’d love to go without being bombarded with music which is too loud to enjoy whilst sitting in what is a small space. We’d come here more often that we do but it’s pretty annoying

Staff friendly and welcoming. Drinks served were tepid. Wobbly table sent drinks everywhere, staff happy to replace, requested drinks to be hotter. Still serviced them tepid. Overpriced for the size of the cups. Sort out the wobbly table because you were aware it was an issue as you informed us this happens! View menu

We were visiting Canterbury and came across this small delightful coffee shop. The staff were very helpful and we were fortunate to try some brownies and a slice of the baileys cake that they had. The cakes were heavenly and I recommend the fresh ground and brewed coffee. It is a small seating area downstairs but they do have additional seating available upstairs.

A really adorable little coffee shop in the middle of Canterbury. I did find the wifi a little slow in here but it’s nice and quiet and is a good place to read and study. The hot chocolate they serve is one of my favourites in Canterbury and their baked goods are second to none (I particularly like the cookies they do! Staff are always friendly and provide a fast service. Definitely recommend

"After never visiting Canterbury before we where looking for somewhere to have a late lunch, we came across this place which looked ok, upon entering the back room we were offered to take a seat in the front area and someone will be with us. We asked what food there was and we where sarcastically shown the food on the blackboard, after choosing what we wanted the polite man went off and put the order in. We did feel that because the man had asked a couple of questions to another member of staff that he was spoke down too a bit. Anyway after placing the order and what we wanted the food came out it wasn’t correct but because it seemed like we were going to interrupt the people in the back room we just took what we had. It was nice food though. When we went to pay we hadn’t noticed that there wasn’t a price list so when we asked for the bill we were told that it was donation, what we thought was enough, it wasn’t posted anywhere and it took us by surprise as we where standing at the till, I was going to pay in cash but was told they don’t take cash so I had to give my donation in card by telling the person how much we where donating. After plucking a figure out of air as we wasn’t prepared we paid and left. Upon leaving we felt that the person we paid thought we hadn’t paid enough and wasn’t happy with the amount but after working out what we would have paid properly we worked out that we had paid more than what it might have been if there was a proper price on everything. Overall it has a great ethos and it’s great for giving people the experience that they need to be in a working environment but they need to show the price or tell customers first that it’s donations and card only."
