"The Indian restaurant has a great concept, serving traditional thali style dishes with a variety of curries. During our visit, we tried nearly everything on the menu, from starters to mains and drinks. We took advantage of the eat out to help out promotion, but would gladly pay full price for the delicious food. The staff are friendly and the value for money is excellent, especially with the 50% discount. I particularly enjoyed the keema, samosas, pakoras, and chicken curry. However, the ordering system could be improved as we had to remind the staff of our orders multiple times and they often forgot to bring sauces and dips. Overall, I would give it 4/5 stars."

This is our go to place in Chorlton, offering a thali style meal. They always have 3 veg curries. It’s tasty food, service is fine. They have snacks and you can take out too

I stopped by this restaurant for a quick lunch today. I only ordered a couple of side dishes, but they were incredibly delicious and reasonably priced. The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely return to try a main dish next time.

We went for the veggie meal for 4 which included 4 curries, papadoms, 2 rice, 4 chapatis, samosas and chips. All for £50. Portion size on the very large side. They changed the samosas for onion bhajis to make it all vegan with no issues. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful.

simply good sin, tasty and cheap. I love this place and would recommend it to everyone. the menu changes daily and I have to find another dish I don't like. highlights are the lamb navsari (not sure whether it is really sprinkled! and the giloda. After india this food tastes authentic and is not like a typical Indian farewell.

Location is handy and staff are friendly. The curries, especially the meat curries, are spicy and taste authentic. Booze and a good range of softdrinks available. Chapatis and sauces very good. Only slight negative is portion sizes could be a bit more generous. You don't get as much curry for your money as at places like This and That.

We were recommended to try Chapati Cafe by our house mate and chef, Milan. The food was all freshly prepared on the day, served hot and extremely tasty. We went on a Sunday evening around 19:30h (admittedly not exactly a peak time) and the service was instant. Both of the staff explained the dishes, answered any questions we had and were very friendly. 10/10 satisfied with the food, cleanliness, and value for money. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend you give this place a try if you like curry or are inquisitive to taste something amazing!

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
