"I was in Dresden attending a symposium, and decided to check out on Tripadvisor for a Chinese restaurant with good reviews, and came across China-Thai. The restaurant is in the Neustadt area, with a lot of other cheap eating options in the vicinity. The restaurant itself is small and not very fancy. I ordered the Tom Yum Goong soup, and crispy schezuan chicken with rice. The soup was hot and good, but a bit oily. The chicken was also very good, and the serving size was huge! The total bill including tip was just 15 Euro, which I think is very reasonable. Recommended!"

Wir wurden sehr nett in diesem Restaurant begrüßt und die Qualität der Speisen war einwandfrei. Das rote Thai Curry kommt an das lokale Essen in Thailand heran. Würde das Restaurant in jedem Fall weiterempfehlen.

China-Thai offers japanese, vietnamese, thai and chinese noodles with a large vegetarian and a small vegan offer. The quality of the food is superb. The red curries are tasty, not too spicy and the baked tofu is delicious. It is also cheap, at 7.50 the dish with a side of rice. The staff is very friendly and they speak english.

Sehr empfehlenswert

We got up and left another restaurant due to non existent service and had dinner at this small restaurant. Good service and fantastic food. The crispy duck green curry was brilliant, the summer rolls super, and the homemade lemonade for my wife excellent. the owner is obviously run off his feet but knows what service means. Well worth a visit after too many schnitzels.

In general, I like asian food and when my wife found this place in Dresden, we decided that we have to visit it for sure. And we weren't disappointed at all. All dishes were generous and tasty, service was good and as a bonus, every visitor receives a shot of plum wine or something like this. We took #31, 34 and 37 (Chinese duck meals) and enjoyed them. Really recommend this place!

"I stayed at the hotel in which this restaurant is situated, it is on the 5th floor, and I passed it a couple of times but it was always empty. One reason, I think, is that the menu is rather obscure, with slashes between the dish description as inscallop/saffron/guava/back puddingA little off- putting, I felt. However, as a lone diner, I was getting pretty fed up of waiting for bad food each evening, although in a beautiful setting, Dresden's main square and its surrounds. So on my last night I treated myself and got a table on the roof terrace. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, and produced a good selection of bread. It's clear there are 5 courses, an appetiser, a hot starter, a soup course, a main and dessert. I didn't want the soup. This wasn't a problem. To start, I had quail's egg/chick/gorgonzola/rocket, but it was so much more than that! It had a delicious fried bread cube, a gorgonzola sorbet, and crumbled herbs to garnish. It was, superb. But the description is selling itself short! The hot starter was also good, scallops in a saffron sauce, with a black pudding jelly. The "guava" ends up on the dish as a smear, nothing more. My main was beef/capers/sour cherries/ smoked aubergine, but again, more- a delicious sauce, and perfect mash- a small amount, but perfect....There are 3 dessert options, I enjoyed a nougat with gold leaf. In all, the food was beautifully presented, and the best food in Dresden so far, on a par, that is, with Kallemeiers where you have to book a table. This place deserves the same popularity but is selling itself short with the odd menu descriptions. It scares people off, like myself. I urge you to go and try for yourself. There's a great evening to be had, in a stunning setting."
