"I have a soft spot for the Loire Valley. it is probably the first place where I tasted wein – on a family camping holiday in my childhood. with limited means, my parents made the brave and, at the time unusual, decision that we would camp instead of staying in a hotel to spend more money for eating and going out. my vater never came in full connection with the compromise, although my mother seemed to have a masochistic joy on the canvas tent that was our home for a few weeks each summer. we drove to harwich, take the ferry over east end or le havre and spend the night in a hotel before they have chosen to any destination they have chosen for us this year. Indeed one of the reasons why I love coming home to London - beautiful, intimate restaurants with excellent service and equally gorgeous food - Cigalon

...For the starter, I ordered Tripes Bastiasises', a dish consisting of tripe (obviously), gnocchi and olives in a tomato sauce. This was a really well-seasoned dish and there was not a single bland flavour, while the tripe was not overly chewy.

For my main course, I chose the wild rabbit saddle and leg with Jerusalem artichokes and chestnuts 19), which was paired with a glass of the 2008 Domaine Triennes Les Aurliens (Cteaux Varois), a lovely spicy wine with herby hints and lots of big berry fruit.

we can't define anything exactly. when we try to get into this paralysis of thinking that comes to philosophs. they say to the other: they don't know what they're talking about! the second says, what do you mean? What do you mean? what do you mean with the knowledge? richard feynman

we visited cigalon to try out one of their wine dinners, a prospect that I was quite excited because I am always in a wein paired with each cure and the restaurant is from the same family as club gascon. the restaurant has a wonderful dining room, I love the cabin seats in the middle, the high ceilings, the atmosphere fluctuated from the city workers from their days. we sat fast and presented with the menu to artichoke and grape salad, gray mullet and caponata, crispy lamb bell and buzz, crushed feigen and pastis egg sounded interesting all but there was nothing I could not wait to try and when it arrived, I still did not change....read more

just delicious. fabulous food and service, beautiful room favorites of the year so far, despite my high expectations. interesting menu with too many delicious dishes to choose from nothing to taste, but not just the usual choices. good brot (no cover fee) served with a generous puppenspiel by tapenade. mainly Provencal/ Corsican wine list took a bottle on recommended, which has proved perfect for the meal, and also from the cheap end of the list. the service was charming and helpful, without being overlaid, and despite the empty tables the ambiente did not suffer. I would like this as something like a central london chez bruce very high standards without...read more
