"Unfortunately the cafe was very busy so service took a while and they had run out of all bread so Soup and Stokies were out for us. They did offer a large plate salad with the stokie topping which wasn’t to our taste. So we ordered some cake each, I can honestly say it was by far the best Carrot cake we have ever had, we’re left glad that they didn’t have the stokies as we wouldn’t have had the delight of that cake and a good pot of tea."

The hummus and roasted carrot roll at this restaurant is excellent, and the salad is okay. The location is beautiful.

Great staff, beautiful pastries, clean and welcoming facilities, and located and returned my lost property quickly and without fuss, at their own expense. Best possible experience

Stopped in here for coffee after we saw Loch Lomond and the quite small village of Luss. Some good bakery items to choose form, you can also eat there (room with tables for dining).

This is a good (albeit busy) place in the touristy village of Luss if you fancy a coffee and a soup. There is not much choice here, so when you are hungry after a long walk and happen to be in Luss, this is the place to go. It would be great if they would add a vegan cake to their selection and mark vegan items on the menu though.

I ordered two cheese sandwiches to go, one on white bread and one on brown bread with coleslaw. I was charged £15.30 for both of them. No drinks or extra items included. I have paid less and received better quality sandwiches at cafes in Mayfair!! The stale, dry bread was outrageous. Make sure to read the menu before placing an order.

Stopped here on our way up to Beauly, Scotland. The place was well set up and the service was excellent. My partner and I had a scone with a cappuccino and they were both delicious. A week later on our way back)we decided to stop there again and still the service etc was excellent. The staff were so friendly, thank you to all of them for making us feel welcome. Definitely would call here again,if I am up that way. View menu

The restaurant was bustling, but as soon as I inquired, the woman enthusiastically shared information about their vegan soup options (carrot and parsnip, tomato, or lentil) and was extremely friendly, making a great effort to assist us. (Thank you, lady with purple eyebrows!) The tomato soup was delightful and came with a generous slice of bread (we opted for whole grain over white). I would highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed a coffee and a tea, along with a delicious, homemade shortbread. There was a big choice of drinks, ice creams and cakes. A good sized indoor and also an outdoor seating area (although we had a take-away). The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's also a little shop area selling gifts and souvenirs, not as big or good selection as others in the village, but a few different things we hadn't seen in other places.

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
