"This is a lovely village pub where the staff make you feel particularly welcome. They’ve sorted out the garden so it’s now a large spacious area, great to sit outside in on a sunny day. Inside there’s also lots of space, with different areas and...a dedicated room for dining. The food menu isn’t the most extensive and there didn’t appear to be an offering of sandwiches on a Sunday, but all the food we did see looked to be presented well with sizeable portions. It’s got a traditional feel inside and isn’t the most modern of places but everywhere seemed clean at least. They’re putting a lot of care into the place so I’m sure things will improve further to make everything as good as the level of service the staff offer. It’s certainly worth a visit if you’re in the area."

Well cooked, and good sized portions. Choice of roasts available. We did not have to wait long for food to arrive. Friendly atmosphere and attentive staff.

Thursday evening is pie pint time. Beef and ale pie with peas and fries plus a beer of your choice for a very reasonable price. Delicious food and beer well kept. Highly recommended for good food, good pub atmosphere and great beers.

After a busy day Christmas shopping it was great to come and unwind in this great little pub. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and the best Sunday roast ever with real homemade gravy. The ales are well served and at the perfect temperature. View menu

I came to this restaurant for a Valentine's Day meal and I have to say that the food was incredible. The rare steak was cooked perfectly and the chips were the best I've ever had. The service was also wonderful and the homemade cheesecake for dessert was exceptional. The restaurant is located in a welcoming village pub with a beautiful atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

My husband and I stumbled upon this little gem of a pub on Saturday evening. It was really quaint and charming inside. The staff were very welcoming and the locals really friendly. It had a separate dinning room, which was bright, clean and comfortable again...full of charm with a stone fire place. The food was wonderful. My husband and I both had a stew which was delicious and served with really interesting and delightful accompaniments, all homemade. We finished our meal off with homemade cheesecake which was really yummy! There was a lady sat opposite us who had ordered a chicken pie, it looked homemade and she said it was really good. We had a lovely evening with wonderful food. I think...

"we had read very good reviews about the green room, me and 2 friends who have not seen themselves for a few years decided to go for the afternoon. we telephoned, booked afternoon tea and paid our deposit 2 days before. when we arrived. the waiter took us on our table and said: “I’m sorry, but the system didn’t update, so they didn’t know that we wanted to go the afternoon.” that seemed very strange when they had taken the deposit from us 2 days ago! the waiter said we had to order from the normal midday menu. after we had eaten our salad! we wanted to order 3 coffees, I asked the waitress if we could order coffee, her answer was: “It’s difficult because I don’t have a pen!” I didn’t reply, there are only 3 coffees and cakes. I then asked about the bill that lasted about 15 minutes when they finally arrived, they had not taken the deposit we had previously paid, and the waitress said: "She must talk to the manager, I explained that I stayed 10 minutes on the parking lot, so she could be fast. When I asked her what happened to the bill she said, they must go into the bar and sort it with the manager. I was very annoyed by the lack of customer service, not only had they forgotten our afternoon, but had also accused the wrong crowd. he was quite arrogant and served other people and let us wait. he said he would take £11 for the mistake with the afternoon! it is a shame that eating and the environment is very beautiful. Unfortunately, the customer service makes this place so much down. it is safe to say we will never return or will not recommend it to one of our friends."
