This restaurant is awful. The food is low quality and poorly prepared, and the employees are disrespectful and indifferent. It's no wonder why the restaurant is never busy. If it weren't for the hotel part of the establishment, this place would have closed down a while back.

We stayed one night as we were attending newton abbott races . Lovely double room with a little outside space with table and chairs . We had breakfast which was a very good full English with toast tea and coffee There was plenty of parking . The staff were super helpful I would recommend

We went for lunch with a group of 8 people. Each of us ordered different meals and we all enjoyed what we had chosen. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We stayed at this restaurant for one night and everything was perfect. The staff, food, and lodging were exceptional. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and took care of us before we had to leave for a funeral in the morning. Thank you so much for everything and we will definitely return. The dinner and breakfast were the best meals we have had in a while.

We stayed for a few nights with various family members over Easter, whilst visiting family in the area. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean and brilliant options for breakfast. We ate as a large group at the hotel two nights and were fortunate to be there on a French night. The food and service was exceptional. Well done to Emma and her team, no doubt we'll be visiting again in the future.

Lovely menu with extensive options for me who doesn’t eat meat. All too often, there is only one fish dish (usually fish and chips and a couple of veggie options if I’m lucky. The menu at the Cockhaven Arms however meant I was spoiled for choice. I chose garlic king prawns which were delicious. Even the new potatoes they came with tasted lovely-how I remember them from my childhood, rather than the tasteless things you get from the supermarket these days. My main course was so good, I decided to try their desserts. The raspberry crème brûlée was fabulous, although I’m not convinced the shortbread it came with was homemade.
