Commodore Carvery - Menu

The prices for everything on the menu are excessively high, and the quality is nothing extraordinary. However, the staff is very good and attentive. The decor is nice and fresh.

We had 3 evening meals during our 4 night stay in Kewstoke. Each time the food was excellent, beautifully presented and extremely tasty and filling. Service was polite and efficient throughout. Would recommend a visit

Called in today on a woodland/beach dog walk and had a ‘free’ hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookie both of which were yummy. If this experience is any thing to go by the new owners can only do well once lockdown permits . Good Luck!

My husband and I visited here on Monday night, after the owners of the b&b we were staying in very kindly booked us a table. We had a lovely meal and a good bottle of wine for a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again!

Spent one night, hotel a little dated but clean. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Evening meal we choose f&c. Great for £10.50. Had a nice pint(s) of Atlantic pale. Location is ideal for watching a sunset on the beach which is 30 metres away, or a morning run through the surf in barefoot. I’ll be returning soon. Thanks. jezchef

I tried the sharing seafood platter, which included mackerel pâté, smoked salmon, half a pint of prawns, two scallops, and salt and pepper squid, served with dips and pickles. It was delightful and just the right amount when paired with some fries, so I decided not to order a main dish. However, there were plenty of appealing options on the menu.

We had spoken to three different groups who were charged full price, despite ordering more than usual due to this scheme. One group paid the full price while the other two received the discount. It feels unfair for those who are hesitant to speak up. Additionally, the restaurant's atmosphere was very noisy, making it difficult to sleep at night due to the constant loud sounds.

Went to Kewstoke for the Scarecrow walk as we only live in WSM. And had seen that this Hotel Bar had been taken over. Wow absolutely fantastic facelift. So much cleaner and welcoming. Only wanted a quick drink sandwich, as it was lunchtime but unfortunately it’s just meals. This didn’t put my husband off though. : he had the fish cake sandwich, it came piping hot with fries and a small bowl of salad. I had the salad with a portion of fries. I was impressed with the standards, especially for Covid hand sanitizer was to be seen everywhere. We will definitely return.

Our two night stay was wonderful. From the moment we arrived we could see the hotel is clearly following covid guidelines with sanitiser at the door and a one way system. Our room had a fabulous view of the beach, which is accessible via a path literally over the road. We were given a free upgrade to a cooked breakfast to comply with covid restrictions about buffet style food. We are in the restaurant, which seems very popular, both nights. Again it is clear they have made changes to comply with social distancing. The food was excellent, good quality and good sized portions. I would highly recommend this hotel, indeed I already have.
