"Ambient environment, and the open kitchen is a welcome feature, seeing the dishes being prepared. It was certainly of the quality you would expect of a Masterchef finalist (chap with the curly moustache). Unfortunately, my friend and I, got off to a rather disconcerting and rather rocky start. Our first encounter was to a serving of butter dishes with an ant infestation. Startled, we immediately brought the unsavoury experience to the attention a waitress. The dishes were immediately replaced, but only to have a second serving of butter dishes crawling with ants! We did receive an apology from the waitress, but it was all too lacklustre given the the situation. We even witnessed the waitress bring it to the attention of the chef, who also didn't seem to be all that bothered. The third serving of butter and rolls was successful, and we went on to have extremely tasty 3-course. The buratta cheese starter, liver hearts, and the extremely light, white chocolate sponge dessert were particular highlights. Indeed, all would have been forgiven if we had just received a more sincere and heartfelt apology for the ant situation. If the Chef has time to serve the starters to his customers, he has time to apologise for the unfortunate set of events at the start of our meal. A complimentary glass of something would also have gone a long way in mollifying us, but alas, no such thing. We left feeling rather disappointed. An evening I had been really looking forward to. Hopefully, better luck next time, as the food really was great, but I won't rush back!"

Copper and Ink is fast becoming my favourite local restaurant. Good food, done well in a relaxed environment with great staff. What's not to love?

This was our second visit to Copper and Ink and this time we had the tasting menu with wine pairings. The courses were perfectly timed (not easy) and the wine choices were adventurous. The restaurant has a great ambience and is a WELCOME addition to Blackheath, which has a surprisingly lacklustre restaurant scene. We will definitely return!

The food at Copper Ink is very good. We have no complaints about the food, it presentation or the service. The issue we had was how the front of house arranged seating we were shown downstairs to what must be the worst table in the house we arranged to move however when we left downstairs was full and upstairs there were 7 tables set for 2 people all empty. If repeat business is of interest this should be reviewed. The food is very good just make sure you ask to be seated upstairs.

Sunday lunch birthday celebration from a la carte menu. Didn't disappoint except halloumi and falafel a little well done but the dish itself was incredibly flavoursome. Some very nice looking beef onglet next to me and I had a pick at the chicken and chorizo on the other side. Puddings were, as ever, delicious and very difficult not to want to have one of each. Chocolate bits and pieces are standout. Service is attentive and chatty but not overbearing and there is a lovely warm atmosphere in the dining room.

My experience at Copper Ink was absolutely superb! The food was deliciously light, fresh delicate. The desert was light fruity and so moorish. Just perfect for the hottest day of the year, what an amazingly talented Chef! Just superb! The wine was beautifully fruity, yet crisp dry again...just perfectly matched for the light meal. The ambiance was relaxed, calm cool....again totally perfect in every way. The service was second to none. The waitress was so attentive, friendly very helpful. I think the girl with the baby pink hair is so lovely. Great fun art work for sale on the walls too! If you haven't tried this little gem....you really need too. South-east London's best kept secret!
