"Sat at an outside table on a sunny Friday lunchtime. Great staff, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. Excellent with regards providing gluten-free options, very good menu in this respect. We went with the 3 course full bistro menu. The food was immense, excellent quality and the flavours were outstanding! Highlight was the main course of featherblade of beef which was absolutely incredible, the texture and flavour was out of this world. Some lovely touches at start and end of meal with some little extras. Did briefly consider giving four stars as overall quite expensive on first sight. However, you do get what you pay for and this was worth every single penny. Congratulations Burnt Truffle."

"I wrote a fab review after a great takeaway in August. We had another in September. It was not good, Monday evening order. Not always the best day of the week to order. We didn 't want to negatively review just one of those things. Ordered last night. 2 Poppadoms with a sad few slices of wet lettuce, one slice of cucumber, one eighth of a tomato, no onion. We had to chop our own. Onion bahjis were a no show. Phoned that they 'd been missed, we had no starter. We 'll refund you ? Oh, thanks!!! That really does complete the meal experience. Main curry dish was OK, but lacking, severely lacking in taste or care. Sorry, we 've given you two chances after a great experience we 'll buy elsewhere."

"My friend and I visited Silk Road tonight. We were greeted by Etty and shown our seats. The restaurant is decorated beautifully. We were given menus and were spoilt for choice. We choose 7 dishes and each one was full of flavour and piping hot. The Mediterranean Sea bass and nasi goreng were my favourite. Tom also came and spoke to us. The staff were very professional, friendly and welcoming. The drinks were well priced and the deals were excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable night with delicious food in a restaurant that had a lovely ambience. Would definitely recommend and will return."

"Used to be really lovely food with quality ingredients but really letting itself down now with cheap chicken and salad . Also ordered my favourite tahini and it arrived as watery garlic mayonnaise! It was horrible . I asked if they had changed their recipe but was looked at in bewilderment and not offered an alternative despite obviously being unhappy with it and consequently not eating it . Very disappointed as it used to be one of my favourite places to eat ."

"Amazing food and good sized portions too. However, no personality to place with service . Pointed out glass for water was dirty to have it replaced with another that had lipstick on it . Would have thought waitress would check it carefully I’d first was dirty . My glass had a large chip missing too. Shared the chipotle nibbles for a starter so much for one person . Sausages were lovely and so was the sauce .Had the Chile beef and hubby had the pie. The pie came and thought it was choc fudge cake for a moment with sauce on as it was a huge pie slice and gravy ok it. Tasted delicious. Didn’t have room for desserts . Drinks menu and was very extensive and lots of local drinks too ."
