"Sat at an outside table on a sunny Friday lunchtime. Great staff, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. Excellent with regards providing gluten-free options, very good menu in this respect. We went with the 3 course full bistro menu. The food was immense, excellent quality and the flavours were outstanding! Highlight was the main course of featherblade of beef which was absolutely incredible, the texture and flavour was out of this world. Some lovely touches at start and end of meal with some little extras. Did briefly consider giving four stars as overall quite expensive on first sight. However, you do get what you pay for and this was worth every single penny. Congratulations Burnt Truffle."

the sister restaurant to sticky walnut has arrived in heswall. tags of sticky will be used to chief proprietor, gary ushers hilarious twitter antik. burnt truffle follows with a similar menu as the mother ship. during a midday visit we tried: hardened salmon, gazpacho, avocado, wide beans, pickled gurke

First meal out this year and it was amazing. I actually wanted to order 2 starters but I was so full I'm pleased I didn't. The terrace was lovely and there were clear covid precautions but still warm and friendly My friend is also vegan and they made loads of options available to her and were really clear. As good as all of my food was I think the whole roast cauliflower was the winner.

no matter how many great restaurants in the many far corners of the country open, no matter how often the national newspapers make a concerted effort to check standsites in many, leeds and york, no matter how many places in cornwall or the lakes or the Scottish highlands Michelin stars win or find themselves in the top rich of so many best restaurants lists, there is still a big lon test

“There is a spectacular joy at life and contributes immensely to the sympathetic and happy accompaniment.” - elsa schiaparelli. I quoted the above on my blog about this time last year when I turned (and in the run of so visited numerous wonderful restaurants to celebrate). So in memory / celebration of the turn I decided to use another citait that (sortiment) summarizes my year this year.

I love the hospitality industry and I love working in restaurants. Especially the likes of Burnt Truffle in Heswall. You know all about it I'm sure, the second restaurant from Gary Usher and the team behind Sticky Walnut in Chester. As ever with these shoots, I can't claim a completely unbiased opinion (so feel free to ignore anything I say about the food). I'm there to do a job; to take photos.

we ate first in the burnt truffle before few weeks with the family that lives locally, as it was near our hotel and the meal was in order. the menu choices were good and overall we enjoyed the evening. I can't say his best meal ever, as another reviewer said, but it was above average. our second visit was much better. the menu was almost identical, which was somewhat disappointing, but I think that eating was better in terms of presentation and taste. we had a good evening and would come back happy.
