"Visited City Social for a Saturday night dinner and was very impressed by the food, service and location. We went for the shared cote de boeuf for our main and it was fantastic beautifully charred outside and a tender, pink interior. Our crab starter was also great and the tonka bean souffle for dessert was tremendous. The venue itself is great, particularly sitting by the windows in the cocktail bar area and admiring the fantastic views. Would love to come here again and try some of the other menu items and hopefully will get the chance to do so."

"The experience was good overall. Unfortunately there was a few downfalls. The starters came out extremely quick and the sausage was overcooked (burnt). No one checked to see if the food was ok and the plates were taken away with addressing us. The mains were nice but WELL over seasoned, half way through the steak had to stop to take on water. We also had an additional dish put on our table that we hadn't ordered. I did say we would keep it (as it looked nice) but the waiter just took it away. the desserts were really nice and the non alcoholic cocktails were fantastic."

"I often come to gaucho and to say I was disappointed last night would be an understatement. My fiancé and I both ordered fillet steak, well I have never seen a cut of fillet steak as flat as the ones we had and the taste wasn’t great either. The chips were over cooked and we couldn’t eat them, the peppercorn sauce was so watery and didn’t taste anything like peppercorn, I couldn’t finish my meal. I wanted to make a complaint on the night as I wasn’t prepared to pay for my main meal but my fiancé told me to rather write a review afterwards as he finds things like that a little embarrassing. The starter was lovely but you can’t really go wrong with bread butter and the dessert was also ok. Very disappointing as we love gaucho but we won’t be going back there in a hurry. I’m not sure if you have changed management, but a friend of mine said they went to to the one in Tower Hill not long ago and they were also very disappointed. Seems like a lot has changed which is a real shame."

"Being immediately after New Year and early in the week, the restaurant was only moderately busy and comfortably accommodated our party of 8. The service was attentive and the food was good, albeit expensive especially when one adds in side dishes [chips, vegetables etc] each circa £4 to accompany the main courses. My main gripe is that the wine list is expensive, with the cheapest wines at £35 and rapidly rising thereafter for wines that aren't particularly special, which in turn bumps up the service charge."

"New Years Day the restaurant was busy but didn't feel crowded, Groucho position the tables with respectful space. Our waiter was outstanding, he gave us so much attention from helping us with off menu cocktails and wine selection, to patiently talking us through the meat cuts. We opted for steaks, which came cooked to perfection (not easy to get medium rare perfect but the chef nailed it) with all the sauces which where equally incredible. Advice leave some room for dessert, Sticky toffee, cheesecake and cookie dough are all highly recommended."

"I spent a wonderful afternoon in Gaucho with friends. We had a long relaxing lunch and we were not rushed in any way. I have been to several other London restaurants recently where the atmosphere has felt too clinical. I know it’s difficult in Covid times however we are still human beings and a warm friendly environment helps us feel special as well as being assured a “safe” visit. The service, the food and the atmosphere were all excellent. Well done Gaucho"

"We visited Gaucho as part of an overnight stay to Manchester. We have heard amazing things about this restaurant and we were not at all disappointed. From the service, to the menu to the food and wine, everything was beautiful. It was a special occasion for us so we were there for the experience rather than thinking about a budget as it is a little more expensive than other restaurants but it was so worth it we would certainly visit again. Thank you for such a lovely visit x"

"We went as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children. I must admit the experience was pretty disappointing. The steak was a little over cooked, the chips were soggy (they must have been sitting under the heater for a long time) and the ribeye could have been a lot more tender. Burger was good value, chicken Milanese was over cooked. Service was great and ambience enjoyable. It’s a nice looking restaurant and a seat near the window is recommended, there is always something to look at. Probably won’t rush back."

"we often stop here especially for Sunday brunch or fry. this Sunday we arrived without booking and we could get a great table even if it was very busy. I really enjoyed the fig and dolcelatte roast, it was delicious! the service was very good and lucy looked around and made sure everything was perfect! I love this place. the atmosphere, eating and service have never disappointed me! well recommended!"

"Had afternoon tea here on Friday and honestly it’s really rubbish. The decor is so outdated and the room they serve the tea in is super small and confined so if you have claustrophobia do not go here. The afternoon tea itself was horrible. We were given three finger sandwiches that wouldn’t even fill up my 2 year old let alone a grown adult. The sweet treats were equally as awful. For £43 this is not worth it at all. The service was okay but like I said you’re in a room in the corner of the hotel and there isn’t any workers nearby. You have to get up and go to reception if you want service."

"The only downside to this restaurant was the noise level. We were seated at a small table in the middle of the room, which made conversation difficult. However, we loved the creative and tasty Brie bruschetta as an appetizer. The steak we shared was perfectly seasoned and cooked to our liking. Although it wasn't a traditional US cut of beef, we appreciated that it was not corn-fed for environmental reasons. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was fantastic - warm, moist, but could have used more sauce. The service was attentive as well."

"The food was terrible. I couldn’t even drink the coffee, the croissant was too oily and it wasn’t made with puff pastry. No comments about the Royale eggs two bricks with a sticky sauce. First time I need to write a review complaining about the food of a restaurant in London. Don’t go, there’s plenty of fantastic places for brunch in London which are even cheaper than this one. The fake lavender decoration doesn’t deserve these prices."

"Food was consistently cold and even when sent back returned luke warm. Despite failure to get starters right, the second course was also cold. Servers were kind and considerate, but inexperienced. The manager done his best to save situation, taking dishes off bill and a round of free drinks. Which was appreciated. So we left as content, as we could but we would never go back and would never recommend. We had read similar reviews to this and should have listened to the feedback."

"Such a lot of hassle when we got there because we thought we had booked the restaurant but we had booked the bar the manager said that we shouldn’t have been able to book the bar via Open Table as the bar doesn’t take bookings. Luckily they seated us upstairs in the restaurant on a lovely round table as there were 5 of us, the bar is a bit dark and busy to enjoy a meal so we were very fortunate that there was a table free in the restaurant the staff couldn’t have been more helpful trying to sort things out. It was a very awkward start to the occasion luckily it got better when we eventually enjoyed a glass of bubbly some very enjoyable food. Open Table needs to communicate with GNH Bar over what can be booked what can’t!"

"The food was fine and the servers great but it was sooo noisy with really loud football on tv just above dining booths then a live singer and guitarist just next to the same area. So for a catch up and chat with friends it didnt work. Also we booked a table for 7.15 and were told that the children had to be out by 8pm which again want going to work. This should have been made clear before booking. They let us stay to finish meal but then we tried to sit outside for a quiet chat and were told we couldnt because my sons were with us. I should point out that my sons are 15 and 17, I wouldnt take small children in there. So overall a fraught eveneing"

"Superb. The interior is sweet as you can see in all pictures. The service is wonderful, the staff is very attentive, friendly and understanding. The food is good and they are open to feedback. They gave good recommendations. They have their own toilets, which is beautiful, as the ladies' room of the Selfridges had a great queen. Would definitely recommend it. I went there alone at the Boxing Day, and they really made me feel like seeing and watching."

"You can find Electric Diner about halfway up Portobello Road, pretty much slap-bang in the middle between Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill tube stations. The restaurant is affiliated with the adjacent Electric Cinema, one of Notting Hill’s well-known establishments where you can watch both the latest film releases and old classics from an armchair, sofa or bed. The menu is advertised as French-American and seems to contain disproportionate levels of avocado (which cannot be bad news for the vegetarian Despite visiting at a potentially busy time, the staff had no problem finding us a space, and we ended up sitting at the bar which allowed us to have a good chat with the very...read more"

"Solid mexican restaurant. It's better than the big chains (e.g. Tortilla, Chilango, etc. , but not the best I've tried in London, so it's a good middle ground. The nachos were particularly good, however my partner had the chorizo quesadillas and she didn't like the chorizo used, but apart from that, no problem. Slightly overpriced, but it is london after all."

"Book for 7pm Saturday night. It was closed! I was confirmed by e-mail from OpenTable my reservation, and the restaurant was shown to be open to Google. No one contacted me to say it was closed. And it looked like it was closed for a while. Leave a review on Google on Saturday, but no one was in contact to apologize or provide any explanation. So disappointed. It was for a Hen-do! We had to find somewhere where we could record our group at the last moment, which was very stressful."
