"we often stop here especially for Sunday brunch or fry. this Sunday we arrived without booking and we could get a great table even if it was very busy. I really enjoyed the fig and dolcelatte roast, it was delicious! the service was very good and lucy looked around and made sure everything was perfect! I love this place. the atmosphere, eating and service have never disappointed me! well recommended!"

Food was good but staff weren't very reassuring in relation to knowing about potential allergens in food. Waiting staff not particularly welcoming either, but maybe having an off day?

Went for dinner last night and was welcomed by friendly, presentable staff. It was Fish Friday so there was a lovely specials menu which we both ate off, the food both tasted and was presented beautifully. 10/10 will be returning.

Eating is okay. the staff is very friendly and helpful. nice old pub, but it was modernized like a franchise or a chain, and eating is equal. nothing is wrong with the place, I would eat there again, it is still a paper serviette job.

We enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch today with our friends. Perfectly cooked roast dinners with temptingly delicious desserts. A lovely convivial atmosphere enhanced the dining experience. Thank you to our waiter Timothy for his his attention and service.

nice meal for lunch here with a good friend of mine. the prawn salat and also the smoked haddock fishcakes I must say were delicious. we were in the beautiful garden area at the back and the bar has a nice choice. the inner is perfect for groups, couples or friends to pick up.

a Saturday morning. it was busy, but there were still a few tables free. Eat and coffee was good and price for what they would expect for the opposite. can be tricky parking in shenfield, but there is a small payment and display directly at the high street that had many places.

Service was very good, temperature in restaurant was too cold. Food was hit and miss: roast dinner was a miss sadly parsnips were under cooked and the beef was full of gristle, so almost completely inedible. The others I dined with enjoyed their meals, the kids particularly liked the sliders. The falafel starter was very good.
