"We used to go to Whittaker's every weekend when visiting Brentwood, and used to recommend it ,it was always expensive, but it was good food and good service, but for the last few months it is going down hill fast! As soon as you go in now ,and...eventually noticed,we are told it will be ,or minutes wait for food,at this point many customers leave. This has happened every time we visit,so we ordered coffee, when we would have ordered food for four people, well we waited, and waited, for a coffee ,after twenty minutes I went up to the kitchen, and was told it's coming, where from Brazil!!!!!! And then nothing! Caught a waitresses eye and asked again, then we got it,and then told if we were not eating could we be quicker as there were people waiting!!!!! Anyone sitting down was told it was a long wait,so most left! That's money walking out the door! And they didn't seem to care! We discovered the reason for this terrible service,a buy came in with a massive deliveroo bag and left after ten minutes with a massive bag of food, they are now doing delivery and making the deliveroo a priority !!!!! They might think they are making a good living out of this, but the people actually there are money too! And paying extra for the privelidge of eating in. It cost more to eat i than take out! And the last time we were there, they lost our custom,so that was four,we saw another three leave,a other group of four,a couple, and that's customers ,and the as thing was no one from Whittaker's asked the people why they were going,or attempt to sort the problem out. We were sitting by the door and as it opened other customers were calling out don't bother again no staff were Interested. This cafe is packed in , more and more tables, with no room to get up or down from your table without backing Into other people, and nearly sitting on their laps. Not going back ,now they are doing deliveroo, actual customers who want to eat,are getting a very poor service. They have lost our custom for good,"

"While waiting for our food, I noticed that the bill was higher than expected. Upon checking the receipt, I saw that the prices were much higher than what was advertised on the board. Additionally, we had to order larger portions as the small portions were not available, but they did not honor the price of the small portions. I was also charged extra for being gluten-free, which was not mentioned when ordering or on the board. When I politely inquired about this discrepancy to a young lady, she rudely mentioned it was a service charge and implied that I should have known since I had been there before. The owner, who was her father, also came over and spoke to me in a disrespectful manner, telling me to leave if I didn’t like it. When I tried to explain that I was just questioning the bill, he became agitated and dismissive. After a tense interaction, I decided to speak with another staff member and expressed my dissatisfaction with the way I was treated. I was met with even more rudeness, as they offered me a refund and asked me to leave. The lack of customer service and appalling attitude of the staff made me realize that they did not value my patronage. The way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable. I was so disappointed that I had traveled 20 minutes to return to this place. I promptly removed any previous positive reviews I had left and wrote this review to share my negative experience. I decided to try another restaurant, Chris’ fish chicken and ribs on Ongar road, and had a fantastic experience. The staff there were polite and accommodating, with no extra charge for gluten-free options. I was pleased to give my money to a place that truly values their customers."

"We are big fans of Thai cuisine we have been in Thailand numerous times, and experienced the real authentic Thai food. Despite reading a few poor reviews, we wanted to go and experience this place ourselves. We ordered Massaman Lamb curry and Vegetable Penang curry coconut rice. We asked for jasmine tea, but got Chinese green tea, that was incredibly weak (and arrived without the leaves/or perhaps tea bags already removed). Then arrived two bowls of rice the bowls were incredibly hot just like taken from the microwave, and the flavour didn’t have a coconut flavour at all. Rice was followed by Vegetable Penang curry (see picture), which was quite all right. Then we have been told that our Lamb Massaman curry has been made with chicken. So we politely said we will wait for the lamb one. This dish arrived within 5 minutes, and it was truly horrible the presentation, as well as the taste. The meat was tough and absolutely tasteless. It was far from the taste of Massaman curry. Just 5 days prior to this experience we visited our favourite award winning restaurant Yum yum in Stoke Newington (London) and had the Massaman curry over there. Perfectly presented, delicious and cooked to precision, and cheaper than the tasteless dish at Fluffy Rice. Overall Fluffy Rice is a disappointment we have been recommended this place for it’s authenticity, but this is far from it. At the end it’s important to note, that you can’t pay by card. You are presented with an option to pay by cash or Paypal transfer. Which is a bit ridiculous. Overpriced, low quality food, far from authentic Thai, and not worth it at all."

"First time Dining here we set up a secret meal to celebrate our mums 53rd birthday here the place was spectacular very spacious great decor inside rustic feel with very nice touches wine racks and great detailed sealings and wall art and outside small touches like what can only be described as glitter in the bricks so as the cars pull out of the car park they sparkle a spacious smoking area also. We ordered a mixed range of starters from octopus to prawns to goats cheese and calamari the thing that stood out to me the most was the prawns in tomato based sauce great flaivour in the prawns but also in the sauce big big compliments to the chef I know it's a basic thing but once this is done properly and right ingredients come together it's spectacular. Moving on to the mains for me I always order Lamb as this is my way of telling a great restaurant from a exceptional restaurant again did not disappoint the lamb was fresh well seasoned and juicy great shish and lamb chop but star of the meal for me was the kofta such great taste of fresh lamb little bit of char colour and herbs in the mix was OUTSTANDING can't praise the quality of the lamb enough welldone to the chef and owner for selecting such great meat The others also had mixed grill and creamy chicken I tryed the creamy chicken tasted great presentation was very unique and even down to the mushrooms the earthy fresh flaivour was mouth watering . Was time for desert we was quite full but we ordered anyways to share apple pie and creme brulee Great flaivour in the apple pie with big chuncks of apple inside nice aromatic spices used inside For me creme brulee was the one it's such a simple desert but once you have a really nice one you will always compare to the mediocre ones . In conclusion great first experience set the bar high and will definitely come back again Superb atmosphere and ambiance with very professional and friendly staff . A place for me to say to everyone please try it and support a great establishment that is well put together along with superb food you will not be disappointed in coming here . Once again big thanks to the chef for the exceptional food and thankyou to the owner for selecting such great meat"

"My friend I booked a table here for dinner as we had been here previously and loved it. When we arrived we asked if we could sit outside however the waitress said this is fine but would require the table back for half 7 (we arrived just gone 6) and that if we sat inside there would be no rush for giving the table back. We sat inside and most of the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food drinks were great aswell. However when it got to about 10 past 8 we were told that our time had run out on the table and we had to leave now and that when you book it says you have 2 hours despite a dessert menu being offered to us 10 mins before this. There was no heads up or prior warning given, the waiter then came over with the bill before we could even finish our drinks asking how we’d like to pay before we’d even discussed it. Once the bill had been paid and taken we were finishing our drink when the waiter came over for the third time and said you need to leave now and give us the table back and stood by the table waiting for us to stand up and go. Having been told there would be no rush to give the table back and not given any sort of 15 min warning so we could Atleast finish the drinks and request the bill ourselves the way this was handled completely ruined the nice food and drinks we’d had and rather than going to the bar we chose to go elsewhere because we didn’t feel welcome. Quite honestly it felt like we’d done something wrong and were being ushered out of the building. Really disappointing end to what was a nice meal out."
