"The menu had a decent variety, though it wasn’t particularly extensive and I was surprised not to see a specials menu. I chose the fish and chips with garden peas, while my friend ordered the chicken and leek pie after enjoying a starter of creamy garlic mushrooms. The portion sizes were impressive; the fish was one of the largest I've encountered in a pub or restaurant, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chips were tasty, but a few were quite thick and slightly undercooked. For dessert, I opted for the chocolate orange cheesecake. It was delicious, but given the price, I felt the portion could have been larger. Unfortunately, I can't say whether I would return, as it seems this establishment is set to close in 2023. Based on my experience, I doubt that the closure has anything to do with the food quality."

The food was excellent, with generous portion sizes, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. One member of our group had a dairy-free diet, and they handled it with ease, without any hassle.

Family birthday outing. 5 of us over three generations. They were very busy, and it isn't the easiest pub to boss, so food service was slow. It is however worth the wait. The food is high quality and very good. Bill was £35 a head for two courses each, with three rounds of drinks. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40

Meal Type: Dinner Price per Person: £20–30 Food Rating: 4/5 Service Rating: 4/5 Atmosphere Rating: 5/5 I enjoyed a delightful dinner at this restaurant. The food was impressive, earning a solid 4 out of 5. The service was attentive and efficient, also deserving of a 4. However, what truly stood out was the atmosphere, which was exceptional, rated at a perfect 5. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience that I would recommend!

Tried the Cross Gaits today for the first for a birthday lunch. Sorry, didn’t get your name but the female on duty was absolutely lovely and welcoming. Food was great and couldn’t fault anything. We had the bacon chop and pan seared salmon. Gorgeous, with the chocolate orange cheese cake and pumpkin pie deserts. I never order desert so for me to, a) order one, b) eat the lot speaks for itself. A perfect 10 out of 10 from us. Meal type: Lunch
